Poke Bowl — Restaurant in Greensboro

This place used to be very good. Employees were never super friendly and lately even came off as rude however I could look over that for the food being good. My last 4 or 5 visits have been progressively declining in quality. The ahi tuna has not been fresh. Raw fish is not suppose to be “fishy” if it’s fresh. I took one bite of my ahi tuna today and it was so bad I had to spit it out. They used to put more sauce on the fish so maybe now that they skimp on it the lack of freshness comes through more. Real poke has sauce on the fish. This place now very lightly coats it which might be good for some people but I like poke with more sauce for the flavor. Not drowning in the sauce but enough where it actually flavors the fish. Sometimes the toppings aren’t as fresh. I’ve had less than perfect cucumber. Today my avocado had black spots on it. Also the fried shrimp has been a hit or miss. When it’s freshly fried it’s pretty good but I’ve had it where it was old and rubbery. I wish I could give a five star review on their sushi burritos, which was the only reason I was drawn to order online from this place. Unfortunately, they gave me a bowl instead - the ingredients I put on the burrito were not ones I would have put on a bowl. I wouldn’t have minded nearly as much nor written this review if they had provided some kind of compensation, which is what good customer service should be offering without any need to ask. We are 20 minutes away and eating a late dinner, and I don’t have time to drive all the way there and back. The only good customer service was it being delivered and in tact (though the delivery time on door dash seemed to be wrong). Instead, the person on the phone when we called to ask if we made a mistake simply said it was their coworker’s mistake, sorry. crickets. I cannot properly describe my excitement to have this in Greensboro. It's not just another poke place. No, my friends, they have blessed us with the sushi burrito!! I have frequented places like sushiritto and buredo on my travels and it left me wishing for this back home. Thank you, Poke Bowl, for making my dreams come true. The ingredients were so fresh!! No shock that I got the burrito option - you can choose from 4 signature options or design your own. I chose the latter. With choice ingredients like fresh mango, pineapple, seaweed salad and crab, I crushed that burrito and my belly was so happy all night! I got the spicy ginger sauce which added the perfect flavor. My husband got a bowl and loved how that turned out as well. Though it's a few blocks from the main restaurants on Elm St, it is so worth venturing...
