I daresay I have become somewhat of a "regular" at Bull Ciderworks this summer. I love this place. If you are a cider person, you will too! There is not a single cider on their taps that I have not enjoyed. I love them all! I especially enjoy all of their seasonal flavors, and I cannot wait for their fall flavors. They even have "staff creations" and slushies that are well worth a try! Their bartenders are so in-tune with the customers, it's such a great vibe. Bull Ciderworks even has 6 packs and growlers to-go. They post a weekly schedule on Facebook every Monday for food trucks, trivia, live music, and comedy. We have enjoyed everything this place has to offer thus far - with one exception: the comedian on 7/2. We weren't offended or anything, he may be an amazing comedian, but we didn't stay long enough to hear him: first off, he didn't even take the stage until past 9pm when the event information said 8:30pm (the live music event stopped 15 mins early to transition into comedy more smoothly). We were outside enjoying a warm Carolina night listening to everything from the speaker situated toward the outside seating area. The comedian seemed very obsessed with getting his curtain situated, that he decided to close the garage door that was open to the outside, effectively closing the outside speaker inside, and cutting his audience by more than 50% easily. There were many people outside at the picnic tables that were quite miffed by his complete unawareness. We were as well, but we somehow managed to find seats inside (it was quite busy), just to watch him walk around for an additional 30 minutes. At this point, we got up and left. This is in no way reflective of Bull Ciderworks themselves, I just post this hoping that the management might speak with the comedian or hold him to higher expectations. See you all again soon, I love...
Read moreI prefer cider to beer and have long been a fan of Bull City’s products (their Lexington cidery is worth the drive), so when they opened up shop last month in the former Gibbs Hundred location, a visit was inevitable. It did not disappoint. With the main and back rooms open, there was plenty of space, and the outdoor area offers a fire pit. The bartender on duty was friendly and offered helpful recommendations.
My wife and I were in “try it all” mode and split a pair of flights. We were able to mix old favorites (Cherry Tart, Cardinal Cin, and Rhyze Up) with new seasonal offerings. Rico Guave (guava) was a hit, and though I am not always a dry cider fan, Brightleaf (a crisp and clean unfiltered) won me over. Spruce Bringsteen tasted like drinking a Christmas tree, and though some may find that offputting, Bull City definitely gets points for originality.
As with Trader Joes, I’m mildly miffed that Bull City came to Greensboro only after I resettled High Point, but as with several other Greensboro favorites, some things are well...
Read moreThis is our go-to double date spot! Gina is freaking awesome and is always super helpful when making a selection. This location offers both indoor and outdoor seating, including a fire pit area. This business is very pup friendly. They offer complimentary doggy treats, water, and bags to clean up after your pet. Trivia is every Wednesday night. They host special events from time to time. Check their website and Facebook page for upcoming events. The restrooms are always clean. We love the fact they they have a game wall! We will literally spend all night playing board games and enjoying the ciders. They also offer some delicious frozen cider options, be sure to give those a try.
I'd like to suggest some BINGO nights, a food truck schedule, and maybe some karaoke nights.
You can actually bring in outside food as they do not have a kitchen. We really...
