There is no denying Chipotle's food is not tasty BUT their latest television advertisement shows them grilling up the carne asada and sizzling going into the bowl. We anticipated smelling the meat cooking. šŸ˜‹ When the hubby laughed telling this to the lady behind the counter, she replied, well it isn't done that way, we cook it all ahead of time. As she was going thru the list of what we wanted, the hubby said, exactly like your TV ad, that's why we stopped in. There was a massive amount of toppings on the bowl of rice, beans and steak. We both ordered the identical bowls and really could have shared one. It was huge. Bad on us, we didn't look at the order board and didn't realize the melted cheese and guacamole was an additional $4+ for each bowl. Their drinks are right at $3 for a small drink (free refills if you are dining in). Two bowls, one drink $35 plus tax. Yes, good food but not cooked fresh and frankly an expensive fast food option for lunch. If we came here three days a week we'd be spending $400 a month for twelve meals. All about wants and choices. It was good and we both liked it... But even the hubby admitted he didn't feel it was worth the cost, not to mention they couldn't replicate the look as in the ad.

Ok, so I get it. There is a labor shortage, but Chipotle admits that selling is more important than servicing! If you don't believe me, then order pick up and let it go wrong. You can call but you will be told to handle your issue through the app so the associates can focus on selling. Of course my words but call and you will hear and agree. Now, the last two times I've ordered and picked up my food was not right. On this occasion I received a quesodilla without cheese...really...is there even such a thing?! See Pic for what I got when they got it right (just aa). Someone got heavy handed on the spices, though I can live with it. Chipotle used to be always good but now there is to much inconsistency with the offerings and between locations. The one thing that is becoming consistent is the need for a do over. To be fair, as I always try to be; on the return to the store to address the fail everyone was helpful and nice and made the correct quesodilla. So I'm happy for the no fuse, my bad, who did that, how can you not put cheese on it...you get the point. I don't think takeout is an option anymore for me, gas is to expensive. Plus I believe in having good customer service after the sell.

Update (9 months later): Short line, staff was helpful, place was pretty clean, and food was good, per expectation with a Chipotle. It was a much better experience than my 1st time. Original Review: Wow! Big changes needed. Shocking as this place is brand new! Giving a bad name to the Chipotle brand. Poor employees are being overworked and likely taking heat from disgruntled customers. Main issue is short-staffed, by 2-3 people. Medium line took 30+ mins for us. One guy covering inside, one girl over drive-thru, one cook, and one supervisor filling in gaps. Not enough. People kept leaving once they saw how slow the line was moving. They were out of a few food choices, serving area was messy, most juice was out, messy floor & tables, overflowing trash, and even the water in restroom sink was way too hot w no way to adjust. Food was pretty good once we finally got it, but we won’t be back until review score improves significantly.

Sadly, even the food can't provide redemption for this restaurant. My order was given to the wrong person. When I arrived and that was discovered, I was assured my order would be remade "right away". Not wanting to impose too much on the staff, whom I originally assumed were busy (soon discovering my assumption to be both generous and wrong), I waited 15 minutes for my order while the staff labored to complete the monstrous backlog of orders, that is, 2 or possibly 3. After another customer came inside from the drive thru, having waited for 15 minutes at the window and expressing concern for the other customers having to wait, and asked about his order, I finally went forward to ask about mine. I found that it had been sitting on the shelf for ten minutes, which I knew because I watched them put it there. I chalked it up to the apparent indifference of low wage workers and blamed the faceless corporate overlords for not paying well enough to engender an attitude of ownership in the line workers... That is, until I arrived at my car and nearly drove away before, to my surprise, my daughter found her 1 of our total 3 items missing. Yes, 1/3 of our order was missing. I took the bag back and asked them about it, and lo, it was misplaced. Again. This time I caught it before it was given to someone else, but on a hunch I thought to check the other item. By this point I was somewhat less surprised to find that the second of my three items was missing its chicken, sour cream, cheese and vegetables. There were more things missing than present on the entree! The worker told me she thought all of the items were veggie, even though the first veggie item was actually missing the first time and the parts that were actually veggies in this second item were missing anyway. After a delightful discussion about whether I should read each ingredient to her while she made the tacos, or whether it would be better for her to read it from the ticket I held out to her, I found I was wrong -- it would have been better to read it to her, as we never did get the veggies. I couldn't tell because the toppings were not added to the tacos per se, rather to the bowl that held them. After heading back to the car and discovering the missing side of chips that comes with the kids meal, I made my third trip inside to hang my head and wring my hands while asking sheepishly if I could have all the food for which I had prepaid. I felt properly chagrined as the worker glared at me while handing me the tiny bag of chips, and I felt the distinct impression it would be a good idea not to impose upon her or anyone else at that store ever again.

With that, we left with our pyrrhic victory in hand, and we all wondered why I hadn't just gone to Chick-fil-A as...

So, today I decided to make the unfortunate decision to satisfy my craving for some Chipotle… What made the decision an unfortunate one you ask?

Well, it started when I walked in at about 11AM or so to see that only one patron was sitting down and eating and there was no line to wait in so I was first. I told the worker that I had two orders, the first was for a bowl and the second was for a burrito. Through her mask, the employee requested that I repeat the order over the unnecessarily loud music that was being played. I then explained to her that the music is extremely loud and it’s very difficult to hear her. She simply responded with , ā€œI knowā€ and continued on. I asked her for white rice and pinto beans for my bowl, and she tried to give me almost no rice and a heaping spoon of black beans. Once that was corrected, we moved on to the protein section where I asked for double meat for both carnitas and barbacoa and she proceeded to try and give me steak and very little barbacoa to which I had to correct her again and inform her that I wanted double meat and she proceeded to give me pinches of meat for each, and I explained to her that she can feel free to give me more since I asked for it.

Now, we are at the salsa, cheese, sour cream and lettuce section (no guacamole was present) and I asked for tomatillo salsa and red salsa and then she asked me, ā€œwhat’s tomatillo?!ā€ I explained to her that the green salsa is called tomatillo. Lastly, I asked for a couple of cups of vinaigrette and she told me that they were out of that.

Needless to say that my burrito order was pretty similar to my bowl order where this employee persisted with trying to give me very little protein when I clearly asked for double… It’s almost as if the employee has to ration the supply for the company or it’s like these servings are actually coming out of their own pockets. I’ve given this establishment three chances to make it right and today they’ve sadly struck...

I’ve had inaccurate orders at this location before, but this last one takes the cake. My chipotle order is a burrito bowl consisting of 9 ingredients. They got 3 correct. Sadly it was a pickup order so I did not know this until I got home. I was given brown rice rather than white, the sour cream was in the bowl not on the side (I get it on the side because they put an ungodly amount in even if you ask for a light portion) and the missing ingredients were veggies, pico salsa, verde salsa and lettuce. So I got to eat my sour cream soup with chicken corn and cheese. chefs kiss The listed hours are to 11pm, but they locked the doors at 7:30, stopped replenishing food and started turning customers away. This is why they were out of nearly everything. instead of informing me that they were unable to complete my order, they just handed me a half-complete order (half is generous) and figured I wouldn’t notice until after I had left. Extremely immature. Be an adult and tell me you’re low on ingredients. I would have cancelled my order and gone through a drive thru somewhere else. Instead I sat there for 40 min waiting on something I didn’t want. Hopefully the chipotle location coming to TR will be up to brand standards because I’m not coming back...
