SPOILED SHRIMP- REFUSED REFUND! I ordered two orders of shrimp hibachi and the vegetable tempura on 9/11/2021 through Bitesquad. As soon as I retrieved the items, I noticed an overwhelming smell of rotten seafood. The shrimp were covered grayish-brown slime. I took a test nibble and immediately gagged- it tasted like ammonia. I called the restaurant and a female employee told me that manager wasn’t there but would return in 30 minutes. I was told that if I returned the food to the restaurant, I would receive a refund. I asked for the manager to call me when he/she arrived at the store. After not receiving a call after over an hour, I drove to the restaurant. The only female employee told me that this is just how their shrimp smells and taste because of “the kind” they use. She said that they would not issue a refund since I purchased it through Bitesquad. I explained that bitesquad isn’t responsible for food quality issues. When questioned as to why I was told I’d get a refund when I called, she said that the employee I spoke with was not her and that the employee had went on break (despite both the lady I spoke with on the phone and the lady at the restaurant having the same name). When I asked for the manager, the lady told me the manager wasn’t working that day. I started messaging bitesquad while in the restaurant and, as anticipated, they explained that the store is responsible for the refund if it’s a good quality issue. When bitesquad attempted to call the restaurant several times regarding the issue, the restaurant refused to answer their call. Read moreThis place was complete trash. The lady that worked here was nice but the chef and the other cashier were absolutely rude! I ordered a eel role and asked for extra eel sauce on the side a few minutes after I placed my order the cashier proceeded to tell me they don’t have a eel sauce! so I asked them how are you going to make an eel role without eel sauce and then he looked me straight in the face and said “without the eel sauce duh” and then I said I would like to change my order and then he went to the back and come back out with teriyaki sauce and said it was his mistake they do have eel sauce and then when I looked down at it, it was teriyaki and Then they cook come out and told me they don’t sell eel sauce so then I asked how did they make their eel rolls or eel bowls and he just looked at me and then walked away. Then my food was served on the top of a container.. like no paper or plastic plate literally the top of a container. My crab Rangoon was clearly old and had been cooked twice. Read moreFalsely advertising incorrect prices. We eat at JOT about twice a month. We normally get the same things and our bill is usually around $18 something. We went to JOT in Cherrydale for dinner Sunday. We ordered 2 chicken hibachis and 1 tuna roll. We were told the price was $20 something. My husband asked the woman taking our order why it was that price when it is normally $18 something. The woman said something about taxes and when he inquired about if the price was the same as on the board, the woman said the tuna roll was $4.99 instead of the $4.49 stated on the board. We placed our order to keep the line moving. I went back up and asked to speak to a manager. The female manager listened to what I was saying about incorrect pricing and being over charged and her response was "oh, I will have to make a note of that." I do not know if there are any other price descepencies on other food items or if the tuna roll was the business' only price change without fixing their advertising on both their website and the board in the restaurant.
