I canāt say enough amazing and appreciated words about the staff and Betty & caretaker I donāt know his name but he was a MAN that help as well they are so nice! I called to make an appointment to see if we could check out a couple of dogs for adoption. Not thinking we were going to adopting a dog that day. Total my circumstances that I had two boys that were special-needs with autism.
Not only were we trying to find a dog that would fit in with our family but fit in to help our boys. ( They were so patient with us really listen to our needs In what we need in a dog š¶ but wasnāt sure that we were going to find it that day ) but did tell us not to give up hope because there would be a dog out there for us which I neither would be. That was OK with me this could be a learning experience for my boys to get to know other dogs even though they had been around dogs.š But Lucky š was on our šside the boys and I meet Maggiepie & it was love ā¤ļø at first sight they werenāt even scared to go up to her... itās like she Knew she had found her family! Itās funny my oldest (Thomas ) his birthday is on (Friday he is going to be the BIG #7 ) and he asked me said......... mom is Maggie just like me? (Meaning Autistic because she was so quiet at first. She didnāt like the loud noises. And she would just look around and was real still and a little nervous. But then she would get up and run around real fast with her tail under still a little nervous . But you could tell she was warming up . She slowly was warming up to Thomas & all of us. For the first time both of my boys were happy š smile, laughing, playing with Maggie telling her they loved her š she was there Wolfie & they made a friend for life!!! ( they always call the puppy dogs as Wolfie!!)! All because this one dog š¶ Maggiepie!!! And gave me tears of joy to see my boys this happy.
We are so excited to welcome her home!! She is all they talk about since we have met her!!! We canāt wait to pick her up today! 7/30/20!!
I wanted to share our story both of my boys Thomas @ Garrettās. were nonverbal when they were born. And I taught them sign language so we Would have some communication but also will try to get them to talk as well. We had a lot of help with OT and speech. I would say the last three years is when they started talking they still have speech problems.
I really do believe Maggie is going to make a big difference in our...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām not able to leave a -0 rating so this is what I can put. I took my new stray pup to get neutered on 7/25/18. Two weeks before his neutering surgery at animal care, he underwent entropion surgery. Two days before arriving at animal care for his neutering surgery, his primary veterinarian had placed another round of staples in one of the eye incisions due to a tear in his stitches. When I picked him up from animal care he was neutered but the staples were also removed from his eye. I was in complete shock that they did not even consult me & did something like this without my permission or his primary veterinarianās permission. The vet tech at animal care casually said āoh our vet removed them because he/she said they were healed.ā
Animal āCareā had no right to remove the staples. They had no idea how long the staples had been in place or how long my veterinarian wanted them to be in. Because of Animal Care Clinicās lack of regard for discussing a medical decision with me, he busted open the eye incision again this morning (7/28/18) that was not properly healed because animal care removed the staples prematurely.
This morning was yet another trip to our primary veterinarian for more staples in his eye incision that was completely unnecessary had animal care not done this without permission.
I called & left a voicemail at Animal Care regarding this issue & I have not heard anything back.
My poor puppy has not been able to heal properly due to animal careās unethical decision to prematurely remove his staples. I was supposed to be saving money by coming to Animal Care.
Unfortunately, the cost that I have now incurred with my primary vet due to Animal Careās medical mistakes completely defeated this purpose.
To top it all off his neutering incision became infected within two days of surgery despite me following all proper care procedures which leads me to believe his surgery was not done under proper conditions. This has also led to another visit with his primary veterinarian to make sure he recovers from this infection and heals properly from his neutering surgery.
I would urge anyone considering Animal Care to look into other...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDonāt go there just to meet/play with animals. The pressure they place on any and everyone to take one home is overwhelming. They will lie to you about the condition of the animal and seriousness of diseases, accuse you of overdosing animals when you follow their instructions, and argue with you when you express valid concern for the health and safety of your other animals. This place is neglectful to animals and it doesnāt get any more simple than that.
**detailed story : I adopted a FeLV+ kitten a few months ago and left my name for them to contact me if they ever receive another FeLV+ female cat. I was contacted to come in but was not told she was sick and on antibiotics. They downplayed her sickness, (this was the second round of antibiotics for a cold in a one month period), and when I expressed concern for my first FeLV+ kitten, they rolled their eyes and told me to keep them separate. Then they questioned me about how I plan on slowly introducing the cats, and when I expressed that I wasnāt sure or need some advice, she was quick to make me feel inadequate to be a cat mom, but continued pushing me to take the cat home. When we were gathering her stuff, instead of instructing me on how to medicate the kitten, she directs the conversation to my 18 year old sister and expected her to relay the info to me. I wasnāt given enough antibiotics, so I called, only to be accused of overdosing my cat (and I quote) ābecause we have had that problem.ā She asked me some absurd questions, (are you filling the whole syringe up?) and even made me demonstrate to her (using water and a syringe) how much Iām giving the cat. I asked her why she didnāt give ME the instructions and why this is a concern of theirs in the first place, if the instructions that were given were clear. Just save the stress. Iām happy to take care of this kitten and adopted her that day to show that Iām taking this responsibility for FeLV+ cats seriously, and was nothing short of...
