Marabella Old World Pizza — Restaurant in Greenville

Where do I even begin! First of all it was the location on Greenville Blvd near 10th St. It was me and my husband's first time eating there and we we're super excited to try something different. I had even checked the reviews before deciding. Got there placed our order my husband asked about portion sizes and whatnot. Got our food and was satisfied with everything til my husband pulled the lasagna out the bag and we saw how small the portion size was for about $9!!! So calmly we went in and asked kindly for our money back just for the lasagna because of the misunderstanding of the size. The manager I guess he was comes up and asked what was wrong. We explained and simply was not happy with size of lasagna but everything was fine. Just wanted to return food and get our money back. Food was never touched but we saw through clear container of size. He then says we can't have our money back even as a customers being unhappy. We stated the food was never touched and it was not as expected. Left to head home but came back in and explained it was not right and was not trying to cause problems but how could you not go above and beyond to solve a problem to keep a customer coming back. After being disrespectful to me & my husband. He then finally refunded the lasagna but kept insisting we keep it as well. But overall he seem as if he was not going to give us our money back until or even cared. Definitely will not be going back!!! Sad experience for first...

We just moved to Greenville a few months ago and tried many pizza places. We loved a few, disliked a few but this visit was very disappointing. We read online today about how good Marabella is so my wife and I decided it sounded to good not to try. We passed it many times wondering how it was. I ordered and the girl at the register asked a young man in the kitchen how long my order would be and he said 15 minutes. 45 minutes later I was standing there talking to another guy who was upset with his long wait. My order got to me 58 minutes after ordering. My wife was waiting in the car and couldn't believe the wait. We drive a few minutes home and opened up the box to eat it and it was overcooked. Not only was my pepperoni pizza overcooked but my Sicilian wasn't that good neither, mostly dough. I realize some times businesses have busy nights and things don't go well. Maybe this was that night and we had the misfortune of trying it this night. I am sure we will try it again but won't hurry doing it. I hope the next visit is better because we heard good things about this place. We have now tried Marabellas on Greenville blvd again and I changed my 2 stars to 5 stars because obviously my 1st try was a fluke. Since that initial bad experience we have had approximately 20 Brooklyn Sicilian pies and they have all been SPECTACULAR! Goes to show you how one bad experience deserves a 2nd chance. A group of 6 of us went here after church service on a Wednesday night so we didn't even sit down until after 8:30 pm. We were the only dine in customers but a few people came in to pick up plus they have a drive through (which I had never seen at a pizza place before) that stayed pretty busy. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious! NY style, big floppy pieces just when I was a kid (born in upstate NY). We had a pizza with ricotta cheese and sausage that was Amazing. 🍕They also have a high tech digital Pepsi machine that can do over 100 flavor combinations. I had never used one before and was boring with just Mountain Dew. I can't stress enough how good the service was. We Have been to a lot of restaurants that are near closing and they usually make it known that they are waiting for us to leave but not Marbella's. They were all so nice. I think that each person who was working came to our table. Delightful! We will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

Edit: went back and got the eponymous Marbella pizza and it was amazing see the pictures of the empty dishes. Also we shared a home made cannoli. It was the best that I have had in years. I have made my own cannoli, these are better. I will go back.
