I came to this location for lunch today around 1ish. I ordered the Mi Cabaña lunch and asked for the special cream sauce on the chicken. Our food came out and everything was great until I was almost halfway done with the plate. I was eating my rice when I bit down into a little ROCK, which sent a horrible pain throughout my mouth. At first I thought it was a bone, after looking at it I realized it was indeed a small rock. I told our server and she simply grabbed my plate and said she would bring a new one out. She never apologized nor did a manager come out to talk to us. We got the new order for to go, which was great until we realized there was no sauce on the chicken (as I had requested earlier) and they did not even bother including the salad that usually comes with the order. Not only am I very disappointed in the way this was handled, the incorrectness of my order after it was re-made, but I also have a horrible toothache (STILL HOURS LATER) due to the rock I literally bit down on. This is unaccapetable and I will not be returning to this location, which used to be my favorite. Beyond disappointed. I now have to schedule an appointment with my dentist due to this...
Read moreI placed an order last night. The order was clearly made and gone over. Picked up the order and it was mostly wrong. I called back to the restaurant and the young lady that took my order seemed to not remember us going over the order and giving specific details. She finally agreed to replace two of the dinners. About 10 mins later I get a call back saying the manager said the only way the orders could be replaced is if I brought it back. I was 25 mins away and it was pouring down raining. The manager gets on the phone and tells me the same thing. He kept repeating we can remake but you must come bring all food back. My response was, if I bring the food, I would need my money back. He agreed. So in the pouring down rain, I drove back to Greenville. Once I arrived at the store, he did not want to give the money back. He looked at the food and agreed, it was burnt, missing some items and the food didn’t look pleasant. Telling me I should have checked my order prior to leaving the restaurant. I had almost $70 in food and I was supposed to go through everyone food to ensure it was correct. No sir!! After going back and forth, he finally agreed to give me money back. Worse...
Read moreI retired a few years ago, and these days, I seldom come into town for a meal, but recently joined friends for dinner here, because it was a place I ate at for lunch periodically when I worked in town.
The place was as good as I remember. While the night crowd on a Friday evening was surprisingly small and quiet, I did notice that they did a very strong takeout business, and that probably reflects the quality of the food: it's still really good, the portions are generous, and the price is right. The staff was also courteous, friendly without being overbearing, and attentive.
I frankly don't know how authentic the Mexican food is; I suspect that in the United States we don't actually get authentic anything, as most restaurants cater to our food preferences, and Mexico is a large country with varying regional cooking styles. But the food quality is good. Between the three of us, we ate fajitas, an excellent chorizo queso dip, chicken enchiladas, and tacos. They make a really good burrito and have several excellent specialty dishes like sincronizada and arroz con pollo, along with the usual suspects in Mexican cuisine and a good combination plate.
It's well...
