Reservation for 6 for 730pm tonight. Business owners and retired military with their family.
5 of the 6 diners were 1st time customers.
Wasn't busy and now I know why.
Burnt steaks remade by the time the party was done eating. There were excuses about training a new chef.
The gm acted indifferent towards me when asked how a $65 steak leaves the kitchen burnt. Your failure not mine. She stated "the sous chef was in the window as it went out, so they didn't care it was burnt?
Yelled at, the young lady repeatedly shouted "you need to leave" over and over at the top of her lungs.
I wouldn't eat here if it was free much less a place considered to be a high end steak house.
Outback or longhorns cheaper and better service.
I'll repost this review to every site and guide available.
Maybe they should be worried about how slack the employees are or how dead the place was on a Saturday night. I hope they improve but I'll never visit this location for any reason.
Edit: Contacted by customer service today 7-11-22 to get "my side"?
I do not believe the customer is always right, but this wording was a precursor to the conversation 100%.
They didn't like the reviews being up and so wide spread. Told me "hospitality must be returned by the guest." And that "some staff were in tears." Over what? The $60 pre loaded tip? I wish I could be bad at my job and be paid extra for it.
After 30 minutes on the phone of going back and forth about how the burnt food was corrected and how the GM acted like no big deal instead of an apology for the inconvenience we got shouted down to LEAVE NOW in the rain. Nothing was resolved they didn't like the way we acted after being robbed of any enjoyment at dinner over a simple fix for 2 burnt steaks from Ruths Chris...could have taken 1 off or at least offered to comp something. Nope just deal with it...OK now you deal with the bad reviews and lost customers. I'm gonna make sure this is a teachable moment for this companies employees.
A $400 lesson for me that fancy places can be classless as well. Never been thrown out of any where. Never had anyone yell at me like that it was a new experience.
I'm not the one that messed up, we gave them a chance to fix it, they can't buy my silence for a gift card and then they got "my side" and shrugged it off again.
That young lady that likes getting loud with people needs to work at Popeyes and try that yelling stuff see how the real world is.
I hope it doesn't happen again but I would bet it does. People that don't correct their attitude and see nothing wrong with it, dont have any issue with acting like that again.
You won't make me feel guilty over anyone crying. I paid full price for shoddy food and attitudes and feel the same now about it as I did on Saturday.
I wasn't rude , I wasn't yelling, how unfortunate that these folks don't see the exact moment where it went from being about 2 burnt items to how they reacted to us having a bad time and finally shouting people down.
They did nothing to de-escalate the situation. They were aggressive and couldn't be bothered to explain what happened. If I am left to assume anything then its the worst.
I dont need free food, I dont need to lie to save my job, I don't need to eat at this place.
Look at the reviews for the last 6 to 12 months. Its plain to see there's a problem here. Lots of burnt food, inconsistent service, how long can/will that last?
Edit: Recently returned to Greenville for a quick visit. Ruths Chris was one place we didn't stop and spend any money. I actively encourage people to go elsewhere.
They think expensive means they can act however they want. They can but that means having to take responsibility for your actions.
The manager that was rude to us is mentioned in other reviews. The fact that someone tried to call me and act like our party was the problem is a major flag for me.
Businesses only exist for customers and for them not to accept how they treated us as wrong means they have deeper problems than just...
Read moreSo my husband, myself and our friends (supposed to be 6 of us but only the four of us came) decided to come up here from Ga for Valentine’s Day. I have heard good things about this restaurant so we decided to try it out. We made reservations almost a week in advance. The earliest time was 9:45pm. We knew it was late but we figured it wouldn’t be busy. We got there and waited. There were a lot of people waiting but I assumed they didn’t make reservations. We looked around the restaurant and noticed a LOT of tables that were not cleaned off. They stayed that way for over 45 minutes!! My husband and his friend decided to go to the bar and get a drink only to be ignored by the bartenders. Completely disrespectful! I finally went up to the desk and said look we placed a reservation at 9:45 and now it is 10:30. What is going on? The lady asked my name and she said oh you should be next. We haven’t had a table to 6 ready. I told her we only have 4 due to 2 of them not making it. She said oh well if I knew that we could have seated you a lot sooner. I said you never even asked us if the rest of our party showed up. You even called people that came in after us. She apologized and told my friends husband and myself that she will get them a free drink and we would be seated next. We finally were seated after and hour from our reservation time. My husband and his friend both ordered the bbq shrimp appetizer and my husband told them to make sure there are no onions due to him being highly allergic. When they brought the shrimp out, low and behold it had chives on them. I even know that those are part of an onion! Like come on people. They told him they would bring him a brand new one without them on it. About 10 minutes went by and they finally brought some but for whatever reason they decided to put them over mashed potatoes. 🤦🏽♀️ Either way my husband ate it and said they were good. We ordered our entrees right after the apps were ordered. It took almost an hour for them to bring out our food. My husband ordered the steak and lobster and asked for his steak to be well done. Well, guess what didn’t come out well done!? Granted the food was very good and our server was very patient with us even though we were hangry but things should have been done a lot better. Oh and thinking giving us free dessert would fix everything is a joke and made us feel like you all were just trying to shut us up. We felt like we were being judged by a bunch of uptight, stuck up people and for the bartender to ignore my husband was absolutely disrespectful. My husband served 3 tours overseas and to come home to his own country and be treated like that just angers me so much. Come on people. Again the food was good but we won’t be back unless we order to go so we...
Read moreThe entire experience left much to be desired, leaving an imprint that still lingers. We found ourselves waiting an eternity, our excitement waning, before anyone even thought to acknowledge our presence. The location of this restaurant is disheartening—housed within a hotel, the entrance is a jarring welcome to a cacophony of rowdy drunks at the bar. What a dismal first impression for an upscale steakhouse! A hostess seemed to be a ghost, leaving us to endure fifteen long minutes until the manager finally graced us with his presence. When we were finally seated, it was at a table adorned with dirty chairs and leftover dishes, one of which bore a hair follicle that sent shivers down my spine.
Then came the food, a small glimmer of hope. We ordered the ribeye and the New York strip, along with the garlic mash, grilled asparagus, and calamari for our appetizer.
Ah, the calamari—now that was a triumph! Cooked to perfection, it was decadent and delightful, a single bright note in a symphony of disappointment.
The steaks, however, had an air of intrigue, both cooked precisely to our request, their flavors promising a culinary joy. Yet, there was a subtle something that felt amiss—an emptiness compared to the rich norms I've cherished at Ruth Chris. It left me yearning for the experience of tastes awakened, yet somehow dulled.
The service was lackluster, almost sorrowful, given the restaurant was barely occupied. I longed for our waitress to be more attentive, to sense the yearning for connection that comes with a fine dining experience.
And if you entertain thoughts of indulging in a decadent dessert here—beware! The selection is woefully limited, a disappointing finale to what should have been a gastronomic opera.
When the bill arrived, my heart sank a little lower, weighed down by the disparity between what I had imagined and what I received. I had hoped for a night of lavish delight, only to find myself awash in a sea...
