Iâve been a loyal customer here and have always spoken highly of the pastries and sandwiches, so I was excited to finally bring my boyfriend, who is a chef. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. The iced coffees, which used to be excellent, were poorly prepared and tasted like water. When I politely asked for another, instead of simply remaking it, I was questioned about what was wrong and overheard comments under their breath, which felt dismissive and unprofessional.
The replacement coffee was no better â still watered down and undrinkable. In total, I spent over $50 on a sandwich, an Ă©clair, and coffee I had to throw away. While I respect the quality of their pastries, the service and consistency did not justify the premium prices. Instead of trying to make the situation right or leave me with a positive impression after a bad experience, the staff made me feel uncomfortable for even asking. The response came across as aggressive, and whether it was because they were closing soon or not thereâs really no excuse and sadly, I wonât...
Read moreI called after we returned home and had the quiche. Yes it was delicious but too much white pepper. I called just to say we have small children and the white pepper was extremely spicy. I was met with an absurd narrative. 90% of customers don't have a problem and if we have concerns about allergies we should have inquired. I explained its not an allergy just to share white pepper might be a bit much. Again said something equally as silly and rude whereas I stated I did not call to argue just share that white pepper was a bit much. I was then told all quiche have white pepper and I should know this. Really?
Then proceeds to tell me he's bee up since 4:a.m. Thats not part of the narrative..Rude argumentative and unnecessary comments. How about terribly sorry this happened and we can make this better for you. (Refund), which I never asked for nor wanted. We've been going there since it opened not a very pleasant way to treat a customer...100th time or first. Thank...
Read moreThere are some good bakeries in Greenwich Ct yes? but when one is looking for an authentically French one, RaphaĂ«lâs Bakery is the best, bar none. I know from where I speak as my niece and nephew treated me to a baking class held there recently. The owner, renowned pastry chef extraordinaire, Raphael D. taught the class how to make a variety of legendary treats from two simple recipes using just a few basic ingredients, (and with a lot less sugar than I thought) Passionate and funny Raphael instantly put us at ease and what we learned to do in two hours time is nothing short of astonishing! We will never look at soufflĂ© or pastry dough the same again. A huge thank you to Chef Raph, his lovely, lovely wife, Charlotte and their 3 handsome sons, and you too Gđ. Your hospitality and genuine warmth permeate the atmosphere far more than the heavenly aromas of coffee and your freshly baked baguette, of which patrons will be hard pressed to find...
