Greenwich library currently has only 2 group session rooms. These rooms are pretty much available 98% of the day. Guidelines state that the rooms may only be reserved for 3 hours/per day per Individual. Guidelines don't impose this limitation to the group. Furthermore, fellow librarians provide conflicting messaging - one notes that an exception can be made to extend 1x for an additional 3 hours if no one is using whereas another reinforced the guideline that is specific to the individual rather than the group. Therefore, my team reserved a room in 3 hour increments - 3 of us and therefore 3 separate reservations. We were told to cancel our reservations and therefore both rooms remained empty for the remainder of the day. Schedule screenshots prove how reservation of these rooms does not occur yet the librarians ensured that we could not make use of them either. VERY CONDUCIVE TO LEARNING AND TEAMING (sarcasm) which you would assume a library would encourage. Appalled at the lack of care or sympathy during these times. In a normal time, we would not need to meet in a library to collaborate for work. Lives up to the librarian...
Read moreI love this library. I'm here several times a week either using my laptop or the computers. The staff has been very kind and helpful. The layout is spacious and there are many places to tuck away and get work done for hours without disruption. You can enjoy your food and purchase beverages and pastries in the cafe. The patrons are respectful as well.
The cons are: The private study rooms have a strong chemical odor. It is from the cleaning spray used (Method). There is no fan in the room and i had a headache within a minute. A fragrance-free cleaning spray would be a better option.
-The tables on the 2nd floor by the music section don't have power running to them. A minor fix.
-The women's bathroom could use more attention during the day. Hair, dirt, and other grime on a wet countertop is unappealing and icky. A paper towel option or a hands-free way to open the door would be fantastic as well.
-Please fix the elevator door that slams all the time. It's quite jarring!
-Lastly as I type this an employee is walking around with a checklist and trolly dropping books into the cart. Repeatedly, for 10 minutes already. ...
