As someone who rarely writes reviews I feel compelled to share my experience at this store as we had two vastly difference experiences.
After driving an hour to Greenwich on a Sunday, my fiancé and I walked in fully ready to buy a tuxedo for our wedding, but were extremely disappointed in our experience with Tyren. It was our first time buying a tux and when we asked him questions about packages/options, we were met with very flat answers and zero explanation. For example, we were considering the tuxedo package and when we looked online, navy was a color option without a change in the flat price. When we asked if navy was available, his answer was no. There was zero explanation. He later told us that if we wanted a navy tux, we would have to order it custom, which we were open to. When telling us about fabric options for the custom tux, he recommended the wool S130. We asked if that was the standard fabric that came with the tux in the package and he said yes, when in fact the standard tux comes with S110 wool and the S130 wool comes with an additional charge. We only found this out later after we left the store and did our own research. He was also unwilling to give us the actual prices of the custom tuxedo we were interested in. He kept telling us it would be somewhere between $700-1000. We weren’t ready to make a decision on the color of the tux and asked if he could take my fiancé's measurements and give us time to decide. He laughed in our faces and said “no. that’s not how it works. Also the price of everything is going up by $300 next week.” We were not given any explanation, he just told us that the price of “everything” including the tux package and custom tux was going to "go up by $300" next week and that in order for him to take measurements, we had to make a decision and purchase a tux on the spot. The store was busy that day, but we really felt like Tyren was just trying to make a sale rather than help us have a good experience buying a tuxedo for our wedding. Some of the things he told us may have been true (?possible price increase, ?availability of navy tux package), but given the lack of transparency and poor communication, it felt like we were being lied to or taken advantage of. We left feeling very deflated and disappointed in our visit and did not make a purchase.
My fiancé went back 2 days later on a Tuesday and was helped by Angel, with whom he had a wonderful experience and purchased a custom tuxedo. The price was as stated online and there was no $300 price increase "on everything" like Tyren told us there would be.
We did end up having a positive experience with Suit Supply, but it was overshadowed by a very bad one and had to make an extra trip to work with a different...
Read morePlease read both the first and second experiences:
This was my first experience visiting a Suitsupply physical location. Having experienced the company primarily and positively through their online store, I had high expectations. I was disillusioned in that vision. The service was impersonal, unprofessional, and unsatisfying.
I was greeted not by the physical presence of a staff member, but rather by the crass, expletive-filled rant of one. That should have been a telltale sign of things to come; nevertheless, I persisted. After wandering aimlessly for nearly ten minutes, I was finally approached, reluctantly, by a team member. They then proceeded to jump between another customer and me, failing to properly tend to either with success. All the while, I had the displeasure of being bombarded by a cacophony of the aforementioned staff member's curses. Eventually, I was graced with something resembling service and was then informed, in a perfunctory fashion, that none my suits of interest are in stock and that they would have to be ordered.
Despite any of that, I decided to go ahead and order the products that I've come to know and love. I now have the misfortune of returning to this location once my items arrive to reluctantly throw more money into the alterations. I sincerely hope this is the last time I set foot in a Suitsupply location.
Why two stars? The location was well designed and aesthetically pleasing.
Second visit, 09/23/2017:
This was a wonderful counterpoint to my previous visit to the same location. I was greeted immediately by the store manager, Jared, with suit-in-hand. While it was not necessary for him to handle my visit, I did certainly appreciate his personal care.
I felt that both my time and business were valued. Two salespersons and Jared were jovial, knowledgeable, and attentive.
This was truly a jarring experience, in the best possible way, relative to what I was prepared for, and I'm thankful to those that assisted me throughout this second visit.
The necessary alterations were completed within twenty hours of my visit, and the communication from measurement to delivery was impeccable.
Suitsupply is a wonderful company and they make the online ordering process straightforward and simple. Though I will likely return to purchasing in that manner - I am now confident that, if need be, I can go to the Suitsupply Greenwich location and have a...
Read moreThis is by far the most subpar experience I’ve ever had in my life shopping at suit supply. I go in Monday to get a suit and to get sized. Gentleman helped me and ordered my size. I was told Wednesday it’ll be here and the gentlemen that helped me will contact me. No contact I had to call myself and Wednesday I go in to pick it up but something felt off about my suit regarding the size. I tried a size higher and it felt good but that also needed to be sized. He said return Saturday and it’ll be ready. I’ll be notified when it is. Saturday comes around I called over 10 times only to keep having the phone ring and go to VM. I got connected to someone and told him I need to know if it’s ready. To which he said hold and 20 min later and still waiting I hung up. I called back three times to get connected again and finally the guy said did I need it today….. I reiterated this is for Monday and I need it no later what and he said I can come closer to closing time and it’ll be ready. I told the dude he had left me on hold and never returned and only got a sorry. I even texted the gentleman that helped me Monday place the order and got no reply….. I reach the destination and I see the gentlemen who helped place the order on his phone outside sitting. This is a great example of prime customer service suit supply LOVE IT ! Icing on the cake ain’t even the communication. It’s the fact I try the suit on and it’s the first suit I tried on…. Which I returned Wednesday. And got a new one which was size 42. It was not altered nothing and since it was 7 visibly you can see the panic in everyone’s eyes that they screwed up. To which they asked if I needed it. Aggressively taking measurements. All around a sorry lousy of a Job. The pants needed tailoring and to avoid the work they said they used a “ technique “ to let out some space. They were so much in a rush to lock up and go home that they overlooked every aspect of the points they went wrong, you’d think they’d apologize or compromise somewhere but no. But ultimately what a letdown this place was. It reminded me why I never come here and how out of touch this places customer service is. All money driven and less customer satisfaction. Suit supply should’ve at least done something for this inconvenience but they did and it was to help benefit their pockets and time. Spare yourself and don’t come to this location. Hopefully this location isn’t a representation of the direction the company treats their...
