I’ve been here a few times before and couldn’t remember why I hadn’t been in a while. While in the area I came here for lunch on a Saturday. The place was fairly dead that afternoon, despite that all but 2 of the tables were dirty. There is loud Spanish (Cuban?) music playing that gives it a casual vibe.

A Pan con Bistec with Swiss, Yuca fries and a bottle of Diet Coke had me at about $25 pre-tip. I had a bit of sticker shock at that, but hey, maybe this place is better than I remember.

The food arrived fairly quickly in an unassuming plastic Lunch basket with a small cup of Yuca fries on the side. The Yuca fries were outstanding, very garlicky and the great combination of starchy texture you expect. If you haven’t had Yuca fries before, they slightly thicker than a potato fry with a crispier exterior and starchier interior. Occasionally the interior can be too dry but Cuba Cuba really balanced these well with the garlic aioli so it was delicious and moist. Some of the best I’ve had.

The Pan con Bistec, was good, but I wouldn’t add the Swiss again. It added to the price and subtracted from the flavor. While it added some interesting texture with the crunchy shoestring fries and melted cheese, it covering up the Chimichurri and Cuban flavors and replaced them with Swiss. The steak was beaten thin as a pancake but still had more than few chewy patches to grind through. The bread was kind of meh, just dry and crunchy, it went with the rest but didn’t add to it either. It made me glad I got a soda. I was left feeling that there wasn’t enough beef or flavor to justify the price.

If the sandwiches at this place were $5 cheaper or included the side, I think I’d recommend it, but as it is, it was kind of pricey, the dining room wasn’t clean, and the food while good, wasn’t life changing. So if you’ve got cash to burn and want something you can’t find elsewhere, I recommend Cuba Cuba, but as for myself I likely won’t be back...

Very mediocre. Honestly very disappointing considering the owner is from Miami & Cuban...how do you NOT make an authentic Cuban restaurant knowing what good Cuban food tastes like? The only reason this place does well is because it has no competition. Not trying to be harsh but as a Cuban myself...its a shame! They don't even get the coffee right, sometimes. I mean, come on...you can do better than that. Majority of people that visit this place have no clue what Cuban food taste like hence why they're content with this place. Would love to see an actual authentic Cuban restaurant in Colorado...it would blow people's minds! Cuban food is the best! The other issue with this place is how costly it is when you go to the actual restaurant. In other words, if you go just stick to the Cuba Cuba sandwicheria...if you go to the Cuba Cuba cafe & bar you will be paying for $20-$24 dollar entrees...lol. Not even the best Cuban restaurants in Miami charge that much. I'm telling you REALLY good Cuban food doesn't cost this damn much. I would guarantee that if the owner actually wanted a good Cuban restaurant she'd lower the prices and save more to make it happen. Instead this restaurant is all about taking your $$$ by teasing you with mediocre Americanized Cuban food. If this review is too harsh, sorry...but it kills me to know this owner is from Miami and charges more than top Cuban restaurants that ARE...

Usually my order is perfect. Today however, deeply displeased. Usually I order the picadillo plate with no beans and a side of plantain chips. Called in the order as always and even verified before hanging up. Get there picked up order I drove all the way back to work and notice I’ve been given beans and they gave me a dirty fork!! Disgusting, there’s also food caked under my takeaway box. I called to voice my displeasures upon finding the dirty fork and the food caked on the takeaway box. He didn’t even apologize. Just automatically says what do you want a refund? No, I’m simply calling to tell you I received a dirty fork and a to report that there’s food caked on my box that makes me not want to eat it. I’m nine months pregnant and clearly not in the mood to go all the way back to get it remade. The contents of the box were fine. I just rubbed me the wrong way that he didn’t even care and completely disregarded my request. Sure, I could’ve checked the bag before leaving but why should I need to go through such lengths to make sure my order is correct and that I get clean...

I visited today for lunch with my mom on Tuesday, October 22. Unfortunately, the interaction between the lady taking our order this afternoon around 12pm and my mom was a bit off. My mom simply asked if the Lechon was crispy and salted, and the response was unnecessarily rude, as if she was supposed to already know that the lunch version is always crispy and served with salad. I was really excited to bring my mom since the food and service are generally okay (though there’s room for improvement). One thing I also noticed is that the music is way too loud, which makes it difficult to have conversations, especially when you’re just coming in for a quick lunch

I’m Cuban and this is actually AUTHENTIC, true to the culture, Cuban food! It was all great. Cuban bread was great, the lechón could have used a little more seasoning but it was still good. The empanadas were amazing and the Cafecito is exactly how myself, my family and abuelita makes it complete with espumita (foamy, whipped sugar) floating on top. This tasted just like a family meal and it was so nice to have in Denver!

Cuba Cuba proves you don’t have spend $$$$ for a good feed. This family-owned local restaurant is what wholesome tastes like.💃🏼 🍹 As pictured: Pan Con Lechon (slow roasted pork, sautéed onions, veggie-citrus slaw & mojo aioli on toasted Cuban bread) Environment/ambiance: 10/10 Food: 8/10 (bit greasy for me) Service: n/a I did take away. Bonus points: incredible music and multiple unique locations. Overall: 9/10
