As I navigated the Medicare insurance maze, Zach and his team recommended I enroll in Blue Cross Blue Shield Medicare Advantage; Zach emphasized its $0 cost monthly fee. I trusted him and simply did not ask enough questions about how this plan would address my health needs over the long-term. I also should have asked how he was being compensated for signing me up for this plan. Then I heard what a scam Medicare Advantage is and how much money insurance companies make for each patient they sign. Although Zach is not an insurance company, but a broker, I urge people to do more due diligence than I did. I was so unhappy with my Medicare Advantage coverage and so went to another broker, who essentially said "you get what you pay for:" if I want full insurance coverage beyond what Medicare offers, Medicare Advantage is NOT the plan for me. This new broker said I was lucky to come in within the 1-year window of signing for Medicare Advantage; apparently after one year, it's hard to leave Medicare Advantage due to the "preexisting condition" clause that prevent most patients from transferring out to a more traditional insurance plan. Because of a major, life altering event, I found myself in need of individual health insurance coverage for the first time in my life. Health insurance has always seemed like a “black box “ to me…. just always had it, but never fully understood it. Now I was faced with “shopping “ around for something that I didn’t fully understand but knew I needed and was riddled with anxiety about either getting ripped off or getting under covered (or both). Zach calmed my anxiety, explained things in simple, layman’s terms, answered all my questions and got me a plan that was affordable with coverage that I needed. This business and Zach have been so reliable in helping me find private health insurance as I am recently retired. Zach promptly returns all correspondences and lets you review all policy info before signing up. Also, this company is very knowledgeable about appropriate plans in your respective state of residence. I highly recommend him if you are seeking health care plans and coverage and am very lucky to have found him! He is totally legit!!
