So I just ate here in a party of 10 and probably will not come back actually I know I won't come back. This is a restaurant, not a drive-through. I at least want a basic standard of service when I go eat at a restaurant. All they did was take my order and hand me my food and I'm not really OK with that Which is what I receive in a drive-through McDonald's. At a restaurant, I expect a bit more than that. I expect that after my appetizers are finished that you pick them off the table and remove them when I'm finished with my entrée you pick it up and remove my plate not just keep making me pile everything in the middle of the table in a three stack pile.. They just don't have a standard of service here and I'm not OK with that. Honestly, the servers would make more money if they were top basic service etiquette when I run out of a drink refill it when I'm done eating remove my plate and take it away. I don't wanna pile all these dirty plates and dishes up in the middle of the table I'm going to go back to the restaurant to do do that. I mean, our table was completely a mess by the time we left because nothing got removed. Anything brought to our table was at our table when we left. There was hardly any room for me to be able to eat my dessert. So yeah, I'm not coming back. I tipped you out of the kindness of my heart not because you gave me good service. My food not so great those of us who ordered burgers and fries. The fries came out cold and the burgers were. I would say, medium temperature definitely not hot.. I never got my drink refilled, and there was hardly anyone there I think at the most there were seven tables and there were at least three or four servers. I can understand why this business is going downhill. Yeah, there's no way I'm ever coming back here. I'll just go to cheesecake factory if I'm gonna eat near the Greenwood Park Mall at least they'll pick up my plates and bring me hot food. I'm gonna include a picture of how dirty and nasty our table was because everything was just left on our table. No service whatsoever..

So, my wife and I went out to eat due to a boil water advisory in our area. We decided on BJ's Brewhouse, as we've never been before. We were seated very quickly and had our drink orders taken right then. We looked around and it seemed to have a decent layout. It was a Tuesday night, so it wasn't that busy and we could hear both the music and our conversation. We ordered the pretzel with beer cheese and fried couscous for apps. The pretzel was tasty and the cheese was beer-y. The fried couscous was decent, but not worth the price paid. I also bought a beer, which was pretty tasty. As for the entrées, my wife got the small pizza special with the pizzokie (sp?), and I got the bbq bacon burger. The pizza was tasty but reminded her of an old-school pizza from the Book-it program at Pizza Hut. My burger was okay.. I ordered it medium rare, and it came out well done. Not angry, but if I'm asked about a temperature, I expect it to come out as I want. I got the onion rings as a side and they were both crunchy and wet at the same time. For the approx. $3.50 upcharge, i expected more than 5 rings. Very strange. The pizzokie (sp?) was tasty though! Overall, the atmosphere was great and the service was decent. The food was not worth the price paid. For a first time, it was not really that memorable and we probably would go somewhere else.

My manager treated us for a team building outing today. After being seated our server came by to greet us and take our drink order. She took awhile to come back for our food order and asked if we wanted drink refills. My manager and coworker replied yes and when she returned with the refills, my manager noticed the outside of her glass was dirty and you could see food debris on the glass. My manager didn't want to drink from the glass and asked me to get the server's attention. When I finally got her to the table, I said "Excuse me but this glass is dirty and could I get another one or at least another drink please?". The server immediately got an attitude, turned the glass to see what I was describing, picked it up and walked away in a huff. No apology for the glass, inconvenience nothing. I asked my coworkers "What just happened? Did she just get an attitude because I didn't want to drink from a dirty glass?" She returned with the drink, sat it down in front of me and said "Does anyone else need anything?" and walked away. We were in disbelief from her response and one coworker noticed the glass still had food residue. I was disgusted and said "She brings me another dirty glass or is this the same one?" The server overheard my comment, came to the table with FULL attitude stating "IT'S NOT THE SAME GLASS!" I replied "It's STILL dirty!" And before I could say anything else she said "DO YOU WANT A MANAGER?" I said "Yes, PLEASE." The female manager came to our table and asked if we needed assistance. I said yes and filled her in on the interaction. She IMMEDIATELY apologized for the glass and the server's actions and lack of empathy for the situation. She asked my manager if she wanted another drink and if she wanted it in a to-go cup. My manager said if you don't have any clean glasses then yes. The manager reassured her they have clean glasses and apologized again. She personally brought her drink and asked if we needed anything else and we said not at the time. The server returned with our food and it was an awkward interaction while handing out the plates. She gave me the wrong order and I politely corrected her. She allowed the other person assisting to give me my plate. While eating we noticed the manager either replaced the server with someone else or her shift ended. The new server came over and asked if we needed anything before she brought the check and my coworkers asked if I wanted to get the Pizookie since I was raving over how delicious it was in the past. I politely declined saying I wouldn't order anything else and risk the server tampering with my order. My coworkers said well obviously she was removed from our side so she wouldn't have contact with your order. I said I'm not taking that chance. I appreciate the manager's response to my issue but I felt they could have at least offered me a complementary Pizookie for my troubles. Hopefully the manager gave the young server a coaching session to remind her how to properly handle customer complaints and not let her emotions get the best of her. Update 7/29/25 I found out this morning from MY manager that the restaurant manager only wiped off the glass. She didn't bring a fresh drink. The glass didn't have ANY condensation on the outside or as cold as ours were when we received our drinks. Also the server was moved to another area. We saw her as we left. IF I decide to visit BJ's in the future, I will make the drive to the Avon location. I've never had an issue there.

Update 8/26/25 I emailed the owner as requested and have yet to receive Either a response. Either they've been really busy or that's a generic reply. I'm thinking more...

I’ve eaten here a total of 4 times and did one online order in the span of a month. My first time here was awesome. The food was amazing and staff was awesome. The next time I came (literally three days later) was at 5pm on a Sunday and they were completely sold out of pork chops. How is that even possible when they aren’t even sold until 4? Big bummer, especially since I had waited and craved for them for three days. My next visit was a week later and pork chops were available. Once again great food and great service. About 4-5 days later I was getting ready for Christmas and decided to Doordash a pork chop. Well the pork chop isn’t an option on the doordash app (?) so I ordered delivery through the website and was told it would arrive in 45 minutes. The driver called me in 30 minutes, told me they didn’t have my order and was making it and it would be an additional 20 to 30 minutes. I waited an additional hour and never heard back from the driver nor would he pick up my calls. 2 and a half hours from placing my order I called and asked what was going on and I was told they never received my order, I needed to press submit twice or it won’t go through, and I needed to contact Doordash to figure out where my order was. So I called Doordash and was told that they received my order and pushed it through to the restaurant and they should have received. So I called the restaurant again and was told that If I didn’t hit the submit button twice, then they won’t receive the order. I had an email confirmation from the restaurant saying my order had been received, Doordash told me they received the order, and the payment was taken out of my account. I told the girl this and she said the same thing “If you don’t hit the submit button twice, then we won’t receive your order and if don’t receive your order, then we can’t make it.” Finally, I went up there to get my food and spoke to a manager. This manager did nothing. I was told that Doordash has my money and I need to contact them for a refund and it was a problem with them not the restaurant. They would only give me food if I paid for it again and waited. At this point I was extremely hangry and just wanted food so I waited and finally received my food 3 hours after I initially order it. I was then told that I will be given a refund for the first order by tomorrow when they go through and cancel all the orders that weren’t picked up from the night before. How could that be done if my order was never received? Today was the first time I had been back in about 2 weeks and they’re out of pork chops. I was there on a Thursday at 7. How can you run out of pork chops so many times during a month, especially since you don’t even serve them until 4? I’ve eaten BJ’s 5 times and only two of those times didn’t have any major issues. I would not recommend going here during dinner because they don’t keep adequate supplies and definitely don’t order delivery through...
