Decided that we needed a cool treat to end another warm day. When we left the apartment on the hunt for some delicious ice cream the original destination was Dairy Queen on SR135, but the line as incredibly long and not moving at all. So, then it became Culvers right next door. But as we pulled into their parking lot, it came to me...Ritter's! I haven't been to a Ritter's in a couple years and decided it was time to break the streak. And I am so glad that I did.
When we arrived there were people sitting outside enjoying their treats with two windows open to move people through the line. We hardly waited at all. When I got to the counter, it clearly had been several years as I forgot how the process went in ordering a Glacier. But the girl at the window was friendly and walked me through the process. It makes me happy to see teens that know how to be friendly when they're at work...even if they hate being there. Makes me smile.
Our treats were delicious. It was nice to be able to sit outside and just enjoy the deliciousness and company of friends. I am glad that we stopped there and skipped Dairy Queen...
Read moreI love Ritter's. Frozen custard is definitely higher in calories and fat than ice cream, but I can bump up my workout for a day or 2 to compensate. Lol But seriously, I think it's great how they always have chocolate and vanilla, then rotate 3 other flavors daily. I've tried a lot of flavors I probably never would have and even found some real winners. My go-to's will always be pistachio, butter pecan and "turtle something." I've never had a bad experience though. My newest thing is the Gelati, alternating layers of vanilla frozen custard and Italian ice. I prefer the rootbeer but my location doesn't seem to have it most times I stop by. All the flavors are great though. Yesterday I had the sour apple which was excellent, but they kind of forgot the custard. I give them a pass though because they were frantic to get everyone taken care of and had a line of cars at the drive thru that stretched to the street for at least a couple of hours. Plus, like I said, do I really NEED those...
Read moreWe all are disappointed with our choice of ice cream tonight. My daughter got a scoop of cookie dough in vanilla dish. My son got a chocolate waffle cone with sprinkles, vanilla ice cream with Oreos on top. My spouse got a dish of chocolate ice cream with peanut butter cup topping, and I got a small glacier with snickers. We spent like $32. Mine was melted quickly even though it’s 64 degrees outside. And all the snickers was on top. Like none mixed to the middle or bottom. My son said his waffle cone tasted old, even though it’s advertised they make their waffles daily. This one must have been here a while. My daughter’s order came out with Oreos, even though she said multiple times to the cashier she wanted cookie dough. And my spouse like three pieces of peanut butter cup topping. Next time we’re in the mood for custard we’re going to Culver’s. This was highly...
