We were greeted by a friendly server. Our server made sure that the order was correct, and even double checked with staff to determine if what we were ordering was in stock. My wife ordered a Root Beer Float, and my son ordered a Chocolate Shake. The both of them raved how delicious both of their drinks were. My son ordered the Chicken Nuggets. He enjoyed them, but said that the nuggets were small, and not enough of them to consider it a meal. My wife ordered a Bacon Double Cheeseburger with Onion Rings. When her order arrived there wasn't any cheese or bacon. My wife didn't complain because she was hungry. She also thought the big Onion Rings were crispy and delicious with the perfect amount of the coating. I ordered the Triple Suds Burger with Chili Cheese Fries. I almost had to un-hing my jaw to eat this massive burger. The burgers were juicy and topped with melted cheese. Then the crispy lettuce and pickles added another layer of freshness and crunch which was followed by their special sauce. Absolutely messy and oh so delicious. The Chili Cheese Fries were delicious as well. The chili was smoky with some sweet heat, and then topped with a warm and creamy nacho cheese sauce made this side dish extremely delicious and filling. My wife and son had double dip waffle cones and enjoyed them. I had a Churros Sundae and that was a great way to end a meal. Sweet cinnamon sugary ice cream with bits of churro topped with a caramel sauce, crispy waffle fries, whipped cream and a cherry. A truly divine dessert. We can't...
Read moreI stopped at The Suds before it closed for the season for a Suds double burger. Although it could've used a bit more secret sauce and seasoning, the sandwich was a good size with juicy beef and a lightly toasted bun. A malt made with cookies n' cream ice cream was ordered next, which was a sweet delight.
Service was prompt and kindly. While working on my malt, a couple boys riding bikes came for quick bite. The gentleman working also gave the boys a couple bottled Sprites a moment later, which was really cool. More people started coming by while I finished, and a lot of upbeat energy was seen coming from both customer and worker ends.
A handful of 50s style items decorate the exterior. Album covers in bulletin display cases, a juke box and at least one vintage Coke vending machine can be seen near the order window. Drive-in menu displays and speakers are also found, although I think the speaker system is inoperable, unfortunately. Unless dining in a car, the seating is all outdoors, and there is plenty for a good sized crowd. It seems that the place is a hot spot for car enthusiasts as well, on Saturday evenings if I'm not mistaken.
A neat, retro burger joint in...
Read moreThough commendable there are folks dedicated to keeping The Suds open, our lunch experience was disappointing. Received carbonated water when ordering ice water, which was unexpected, the two mushrooms I ate tasted freezer burnt, coney sauce was insanely sweet, (and that's coming from someone raised in a family who used plenty of sugar in recipes). Husband asked for burger without cheese & it was brought out with 2 pieces of cheese. Mentioned to the cook who brought it out & the actual response was, "Well, that's a Suds Burger & those come with cheese." She then made a point to show us the paper ticket & explain it wasn't her fault because whoever rang the order up didn't specify no cheese. OK? Finally, and begrudgingly, offered to remake & at that point we were just done. Other employees were mostly friendly, which is why this isn't a one star review. The controversial cheeseburger was a thick, (patties needed to be flattened out), grease pit. Maybe there's some other items on the menu to be enjoyed, but we couldn't find them. Absolutely would...
