Great food, however food isn't timed well; three bites into edamame and entrees arrived. We were asked multiple times whats wrong with edamame, answered “nothing just eating the entrees so they don’t become cold”

We were rushed and hovered over by staff our entire time, unable to have a conversation over two minutes in duration, dry humor from a well meaning owner wasn't appreciated while on a date. Appreciate the intent but there is a time and place for comments like “You’re just trying to be difficult, aren't you? As a result of not signing the check that had landed on our table 30 seconds prior. We don’t know each other, its not funny. Sarcastic humor is best left for those you’re aquatinted with and usually not in mixed company, else it might bite.

I personally recommend ordering to go, placing a reservation rather than just walking in, and being prepared to eat quickly. Food is great, im sure staff are good people but the experience fell short of the over $60 meal, albeit; well tasting and well presented meal. Would advise to put grip tape on steps outside and ramp up, when it rains it’s very slick. Also, not everyone, but some generally find it poor form to pick up the check to “see” the tip in front of the customer, after the card has been run.

Since its that important…I left $10 for a $57 meal…the cook...

Lively late night atmosphere and generous quality fish in their sushi and sashimi creations in a small, intimate space.

FOOD Adding an update for a new fave --get the CHIRASHI 🍣 it's super delucious with generous portion of sashimi and sushi rice!

I ordered the Shrek Forever 💚 roll and it was delicious. The roll is big and each piece took more than a single bite. The fish inside was in generous chunks, and overall it was a delicious creation with subdued, mild flavors.

Chicken Katsu 🐔 🍚 was a HUGE serving with a lot of rice, so I was able to enjoy it the next day for lunch.

The grilled squid 🦑 is my favorite appetizer to share. It's chewy (normal for squid) and pairs well with beer.

SERVICE We were seated right away and the drinks and food came out promptly. Server checked on us and the owner even gave us a little sample of another dish to try!

Let me start by saying the service was superb but there were a few negatives. The owner was sitting close to our table when we arrived in his apron and purple shirt and decided to comment on almost everything in our conversation when discussing options on the menu providing very little privacy. We should’ve just asked him to just pull up a chair and ordered him a beer, eventually he left. The sushi was simply put, not good. The raw meat was washed in bleach. This is not political but more for humor, I legit left feeling like I received a Donald trump recommended Covid treatment. I currently plan on returning home to lick my countertops to clean them. Legitimately though the raw fish on top of the rainbow roll left a residual bleach taste in my mouth which was not the iodine flavor of raw fish. I hope their practice of food storage and preparation can change...
