Normally Elmer's is basically good-ish, when you want to throw your consumer ethics to the wind for that classic American low-quality diner-style breakfast that is devoid of any ethical sourcing whatsoever, -because... 'Merica 🦅🇺🇲. Food quality is equivalent to Shari's; they all use the same food delivery service like Cisco. Their recipes haven't changed since the 60's and that's exactly how it tastes. The gravy this time on my chicken fried steak was weird... almost like they put cheese in it because it was gooey and stringy. It was a very bizarre consistency from what a white sausage gravy should be. -I've also made sausage gravy from scratch a million times, and this just wasn't it so IDK what they are doing here. Tasted weird and grossed me out. The server told me they don't put cheese in the gravy, so canned gravy is what it seemed like. Nasty. **My experiences with the Chicken Fried Steak gravy at Elmer's in Milwaukie/OR City were better tasting and not like this. It's a dish I order often at various locations. So maybe they are making things differently at this Gresham location but not for the better. *Fruit side was relatively fresh 🍉🍌🍇. Super inflated prices for this quality, which is probably why they don't show their menu prices online.💲💸 I got the light eaters chicken fried steak portion that comes with one egg and fruit and that was over $16 (it's an extra charge to add cheese to your egg). The normal chicken fried steak bowl is over $17, and the regular meal is over $17. I got an OJ and a coffee : Total was $26 ; after tip is $30. Breakfast is $30. Let that sink in. Service : 👍 Ambience/Cleanliness : 👍 Location/Accessibility : 👍 Exterior👍

I usually rank Elmer's high but this visit wasnt good. We arrived at 6:30 when they opened up. We were the second car parked in the front. I ordered the crab omelette and my husband ordered farmers omelette with biscuits and gravy over everything. He ordered coffee. And I ordered Lipton tea. It took a long time to get my tea. I thought she had forgotten about it. I cant drink liquids with my meal. She waited so long that I only got to drink half a cup of tea before my breakfast came. And it took half an hour for us to get our food. My crab omelette was barely Luke warm and I asked my husband if his omelette was warm and he said his was hot. And I said oh that must be nice cause mine is barely Luke warm. So mine must of sat there a long time waiting to go out. Then eating left overs at home I found a good size shell in my omelette from the crab. So my experience with Elmer's wasn't as positive this time around as my husbands experience was. He had hot food and and enjoyed his food.

Great service, with super friendly and efficient staff. Very family friendly atmosphere, large tables available, and very big space overall, so our group of 6 had no more than a five minute wait on a weekend brunch. The food was good with a lot of options and customization available — vegetarian friendly! Everything was well-cooked, nothing exceptional, but good. Scrambled eggs were soft and well done. We really enjoyed the cinnamon swirl pancakes! The servings were huge, but you can request mains a-la-carte if you’re not looking for a big combo meal. The potato pancakes were ok, but were tough to eat as the potato was thinly sliced hash brown pieces, and fell apart as you lifted it on the fork. Plenty of parking available around the premises, and clean bathrooms adjoined to the space.

If you read through the reviews, many mention undercooked food and even food poisoning. I mentioned this when I found a giant black hair in my food! Was snapped at by the very unprofessional Stephanie. Then told the staff we're not allowed to serve me food, which is fine because I never planned to eat there again anyhow. But it bothers me that rather than have their cooks wear hair nets and cook the food properly, they simply refuse service to the customer who said something directly, rather than a review. So I called corporate, and without even hearing my side, he cut me a check to refund my food and BANNED me from going in at all. I would think if good customer service was their priority, they would be apologetic rather than rude. And train their cooks on food prep and being sanitary instead of 86ing a daily customer. Shame on Elmer's!

I ordered French toast, and one piece was perfect, but my 2nd bite of the other piece was uncooked. I told Tiffany why I wasn't going to eat it.....she did not offer to have them remake a piece for me, nothing. She just said "oh" and took the plate back to the kitchen. After a few minutes, I decided to ask her if she could have them remake a piece for me, and she seemed put off by my request. I told her not to worry about it because I would just call the manager later to take it up with them. Which I did, Amber was super friendly, she found the ticket & she said she would leave a $10 off coupon for me to use next time. I used the coupon the next morning when I went in to pick it up. I ordered for me & 3 other meals. When i went to take a bite of my German pancake, I saw a thick black hair cooked into it. I showed it to Stephanie and she was not at apologetic about it, instead she got all defensive and said "it was an accident, they wear hair nets".......which obviously do no good, or they are not all wearing them all the time. Or maybe they need their eyes checked because how could they NOT see a thick black hair baked into the center of a giant pancake??? A few minutes later, she sent the lounge waitress in with a coupon for a free German pancake. . ...that's not acceptable, not to me. I understood the first time with the French toast, but didn't want to eat the same item I was grossed out by.....that's why I ordered the pancake. Two orders that violate health standards two days in a row.....makes me feel like someone in the kitchen hates me, or their cooks need to be trained better in cooking food all the way through and being more hygienic in the work place. I almost threw up seeing that hair, and I don't want to take a chance on what I eat next......giving me food poisoning or salmonella. However, what I found more disgusting than the food was Stephanie's response towards me....like I was making a big deal out of nothing. No, IT IS A BIG DEAL WHEN THEIRS HUMAN HAIR IN THE FOOD BEING SERVED! If she is so non-chalant about a hair, what else does she let slide? I gave the free pancake coupon to another customer because I will never eat there again. I should have been given the option of a refund for the meal that had the hair in it, the French toast and an apology. I DO NOT RECOMMEND...

7/10/23 5 stars🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 My friend and I had stopped in at Sheri's up the street, for Louisiana BBQ Ribs they were doing a special on, and after waiting 30 minutes to have someone take our order, we left and came to Elmers. The blonde waitress was exceptionally friendly and smiling. She was very on point with service. We immediately got water, silverware, and menus. She took our order within a few minutes, And shortly after that, we were both looking at their Flat Iron steak dinner with mashed potatoes, turkey gravy, exceptionally well grilled zucchini and summer squash. It included a salad that had romaine, ragula, tomatoes, slice olives cucumbers and cheese. The restaurant was fairly busy, and yet our waitress was very attentive. I was so pleased I left a 25% tip. Keep up the good work Elmers. You're one of the few resturaunts left where you get good food and good service.

4/17/23 I love coming to Elmer's the one at mall 205 and the one in Gresham have the best friendliest waitresses ever... the cooks are exceptionally good. I wish the cooks would wear a hair net because some of these guys have really long not that clean hair. I'm always happy with the food and I'm always happy with the service. I wish I could figure out how to post a picture here but I can't.

4/29/23 1 star ⭐️ Stop in for dinner tonight with a friend of mine ordered a BLT on sourdough bread. When they brought our dinners out my sandwich was on a hoagie. I asked her to fix it she took the sandwich and never returned until my friend was done with her dinner. I asked for a to go bag to take my sandwich home, the waiteress that brought it to me threw it on the table and walked away. I paid $16.49 for a lousy BLT that was so lightly toasted that it didn't look toasted...they didn't offer fries, cottage cheese, or coleslaw even though the menu says it come with a choice. I don't know that I have ever been treated this badly in any restaurant ever. There was hardly anyone there so it's not like she was overwhelmed. Needless to say, I did not leave a tip. I am a regular 20% tipper...but this treatment really...

Hi everyone! Honestly I don't know what's going on with the staff @ this location sadly I just learned from my lovely wife and kids that today they decided to go to have lunch and to have a good time @ this place... That didn't happened !! Instead they were treated like if the restaurant was doing them a favor and feed them for free! Let me tell you this place is not super expensive but it is not FREE either! I can understand that sometimes especially during lunch hour it tends to get busy but if you love your job and enjoy what your doing and especially know how to treat your customers with respect ( remember who's paying) then believe me that nobody would complain unfortunately I wasn't able to go with my family today but I will soon! And will have a little talk with the manager or whoever is in charge of that location, cause is not fair that my family had to wait too much for "ALEJANDRA" to go and take the order bring the food when she felt like it, give orders to my wife and do what she wanted instead of getting what it was order and bring what it was order not to! Make my daughter ask for milk three times! And when it was time to eat toss the cutlery @ the table like to see if it could bounce like a ball ridiculous! Left for her break and never told or send nobody to check on them @ least! All in all it was a very frustrating and sour experience for my family are you guys or Alejandra racist? Yes we are hispanic and proud of it!! But remember our money is green just like everyone else! I really hope the manager can talk soon to this lady Alejandra and take proper actions and FYI this is the second time just different server, really has this place come to this kind of stuff now? "SAD"!!!!!...
