This place has the feel of a neighborhood bar that a lot of regulars repeatedly come to hang out with others they have seen here before. There is some fantastic sandwiches on the menu, Pizza is decent, and if you want a beer or a cocktail oh, there are plenty of selections for you. They have a few lines to choose from as well.
This place has more of a sports pub feel. There are TVs at nearly every table and larger TVs near the back, as well as one in the front by entrance. There is video poker and Keno or other lottery drawings you can participate in, if that's your thing.
The bathrooms are typically well-stocked and clean. The tables have plenty of room to eat and there never seems to be much of a wait for friendly, helpful service, despite that they seem to only have one person to staff the bar and to wait on the tables most of the times that I have been there.
I like to run in to pick up an order that I have called ahead to have ready, and they have never messed up on any of my orders so far as accuracy. Although I can say, that I have been surprised a couple of times by getting charged extra for something that I was offered that I didn't know it was going to cost more until after I was asked for payment. (For example, extra pickles on a sandwich I was picking up for a coworker, and getting a side salad instead of deep fried potatoes and there was a third item another time that I was up charge for that I was unaware was going to occur which, unfortunately, isn't coming to mind at the moment, but it seems to me it was something that I've gotten elsewhere with no upcharge.)
The place can get a little bit noisy with the sports going on and sometimes just a loudness from the number of patrons collecting at the back of the restaurant.
There is a large fenced-in area attached to the side of the building just south of the entrance, with several good sized tables if you want to eat or smoke outside, but it looks like it would be a better place to sit on a date with warm weather and no wind, since there is no cover and the walls are simple wrought iron. There are no table umbrellas and no patio heaters for when the weather...
Read moreWe went to your restaurant last night later in the evening. There was one man sitting at the bar. The air conditioning was turned up so high that we were freezing the entire time we were there. Had to change tables three times in an attempt to find one where the air wasn't blowing right on you. Still very cold. The waitress suggested that the video poker room might be warmer. We came for a meal, not to hang out with the kind of low life skeezes that frequent video poker. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and a wedge salad. The salad was so covered in dressing that it was difficult to enjoy. I was unable to finish the salad because of the overabundance of dressing. Too much dressing ruins a salad. Salad is simple to prepare. Just saying. Then my grilled cheese was served and made the salad seem good in comparison. The cheese was burnt and hard, the bread was saturated in stale tasting grease, and the cheese tasted like processed American cheese food (which is not cheese, only contains some small amount of cheese). At this point, I thought perhaps the cook should consider another career because if you can't make a good grilled cheese sandwich then you are a total fail. To add insult to injury, our pizza was served. The edges of the pie were covered in large blackened bubbles of burned dough. Your name implies that pizza is your specialty. This pie doesn't reflect that. The waitress, Jen, was fumble fingered and nearly dropped the pizza while placing it on the table. She kept calling me dearie and my husband honey. Very unprofessional. Dearie is a term used for children and old women. I am neither. And the only person who should be calling my husband honey is me. Plus, she was speaking about her personal family business to the one man at the bar in a loud voice. Clue to you, dearie, if that is your family, you might want to keep it to yourself. Once again, very unprofessional and, not to mention, uncomfortable for us the unwilling listeners. So, the food was, at best, disappointing and the service disturbing. Highly doubtful that we will ever return to pay $40 for this...
Read moreI’m not ordering from this place again. When I saw their sandwich online it looked amazing and that isn’t what was delivered. I also ordered a side salad with w/dressing I paid extra for it as well and I did not receive it. I received cold and soggy fries that I couldn't eat. I had also asked them not to use white bread not sourdough, but they used it anyway and now I can’t even eat my meal. Am never going to order from this place again and on top of that I was charged $12.45 for a 2 L bottle of Starry. I had ordered one with my meal and then I got a second one and they charged me twice for it. My first order was my club sandwich with no sourdough bread and a side salad with blue cheese that I paid extra for with the meal. Instead, I got fries that I didn’t order they were soggy and cold... Also when I ordered the club, the fries were no extra charge but I ordered a side salad which I paid the extra for and did not receive. The cheapskates gave me the fries that were cold and soggy. I didn’t get the white bread for my sandwich that I had ordered and didn't get the side salad I had asked for and paid more for. I couldn’t even eat the meal and I ordered a bottle of 2 L Starry which I was charged $21.45 for the wrong order and then I got a second charge from the same place for $12.45 for a 12 L bottle of soda… ...
