I ordered wok in because it’s been soon good! Got their orange chicken today and was absolutely disappointed. It tastes like sweet and sour chicken. No orange flavor except for the color. I haven’t had it in about 2 months and it was soooo good. But this time? Gross! I don’t like sweet and sour chicken and this is what every single other Asian places sweet and sour tastes like. Over battered, under cooked and not an orange flavor to be tasted.
Updated 03/02/2025 Wok in replied to my concern saying that it doesn’t look like neither the orange chicken or the sweet and sour. They said they would look at cameras but I don’t know what that entails. I sent in the date and time and my order confirmation screen from the website. Do they watch the cooks make the food to ensure the quality? They haven’t responded in a day but I’m hopeful I will get an answer this week.
Update 03/04/2025 At this point the negative review will stand. I will try something else on their menu another time to give it another go. I am highly concerned that their reply to this review was deleted. I wasn’t looking for a refund but wanted to ensure that if that’s how their “orange chicken” is that I never...
Read moreAfter two local restaurants shut down that serve sweet and sour shrimp, my husbands FAVORITE Asian dish, we were so excited to see Wok In had it on their menu!
I visited them just a few minutes after their "closing time" but as I walked up, noticed there was still people eating, so my hope was they might still be open. I asked the woman at the counter if it was too late for a to go order to be placed and she told me no problem and took the order! I was so happy.
The place itself was very clean, well lit and they had this awesome synth-wave like 80's music playing. It felt very nostalgic. I tried to watch and listen to other tables eat their food, one couple had a plate of everything it seemed and I could hear them saying how good the food was.
When I brought my husband home his order of Sweet & Sour Shrimp, Beef Fried Rice & Crab Puffs, he RAVED about it. There was not one negative thing about the food. I only tried the fried rice, but it was in fact, delicious. The portions of beef inside were HUGE.
We will definitely be back to dine in and I can't wait to try the...
Read moreI am very disappointed compared to Sunny Hans. I understand this is a different restaurant, so perhaps it's not fair to compare the 2, but it's hard not to. I was hoping it was just under new management and that they would keep some of the same recipes. Sunny Hans had the best orange chicken and the best teriyaki I have ever had. However, now I find the orange chicken mediocre at best, and the teriyaki was so loaded with anise that I couldn't even finish it. I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt and think this just might be because they're new and still figuring things out. I'm open to trying them again in the future, and I will update my review if my...
