UPDATE: I called again after posting this and finally spoke to someone that gave us a gift card to try them again. We did pick up an order to go. Service was good food was just OK. Shared the mushroom burger, cow fries and fried pickles. Pickles lacked flavor dipping sauce was good. Don't know that we'll go back. Pricey and just not that good. I do appreciate them giving us the gift card.

Due to covid we had ordered to go orders twice getting the Wilson Hill and fries to share. We loved our first two meals and had wished that we'd gone sooner, however our third experience was a very big disappointment! We placed an order to go on March 9th, 2022 for the same meal that we had the two previous visits. We had paid $18.00 both prior times and when my boyfriend picked up it was $23.00 this visit he questioned the price several times and was rudely told that it was correct and pretty much shoved out the door. Frustrated we open our order in the car and were very disappointed in the very soggy fries with a very over cook burger that was disappointing all the way around! We had both fries and chips discovering that our chips were the cow fries. We didn't order cow fries but regular fries and would have enjoyed the toppings that were supposed to be on them but really weren't. We did not order chips nor would we ever as my guy loves fries. I immediately called in regards to our order and was rudely treated with no resolution. I requested that a manager call me back. After not hearing from anyone I called again three days later leaving another message and then 3 more times. I've never received a call. We love to support local and we were raving about this place until now. I finally decided to post as we kept talking about our experience and how very frustrated in the lack of care. I don't usually get to try things more expensive than fast food, but I'm glad I decided to stop by. After playing Pokemon go for hours downtown the food really hit the spot! Both times I visited have been great. The staff are so welcoming and kind, and really make you feel at home. Just really good people. Makes me look forward to coming by.

Ordering takeout is easy- you're given a buzzer you can take outside, takes the stress out of checking in on your order, you'll know when it's ready.

Food is amazing. Burgers are good sized and loaded with their toppings, patties are tender and juicy, you can really taste how fresh the meat is (and sustainable too!) Cajun fries are great, they're really well reasoned and NOT so salted that it overwhelms the spice, I loved the balance in flavor.

Their fried pickles are spears instead of the regular round slices, and that's gotta be the best idea ever. You get to bite into an entire fried spear of pickle. And with the portion size I'm pretty sure i got darn near the whole jar! Seasoning on the breading was so good, and the whole thing paired amazingly with their fry sauce, which has to be the most richly flavorful fry sauce I've had.

At first I was disappointed they don't have a burger with the "basic" collection of toppings (lettuce,tomato,pickle,etc) though they do have a build-your-own with their other high quality ingredients. But I know it's only an issue for me because I'm boring and always go for samey stuff most burger places offer by default. But that just means coming here made me try new things I learned I enjoy instead, with much more flavorful combinations.

If you're willing to pay a little more for quality and sustainability, and you want to try something more than just basic, you'll love it here. I'm definitely going to keep coming back at least...

It pains me to not be able to rave about The Local Cow but after years of frequenting this burger joints, it’s taken a turn for the worse. First off we love the overall atmosphere here. It’s got some really great charm. Their burgers are clever and usually really delicious. But lately the food quality has taken a nosedive. My wife and I come by every month, usually the first week to have their burger of the month. And usually it’s amazing but 3 months in a row the food has been disappointing. First off the fries… yikes. What has happened? No longer do we get perfectly cooked and fluffy fries but instead overcooked and crunchy potato sticks that are inedible. After the third visit and getting the same quality fries we asked for them to be remade. While they were, they were only mildly better. Further the portions have started to wildly fluctuate. Usually in the past we have got a plentiful serving, but over the months we’ve noticed it’s no longer consistent. The burgers have been good, better than the fries but it seems that they’ve missed how we each like our burgers made. My wife likes hers well done, I prefer medium rare. Each time she’s got a burger with the above request it’s come overcooked and chewy. Mine seems to fare better but I still usually get a burger that is cooked more than I care for.

So I hope maybe things have been askew and we’ve just had bad luck… multiple times in a row. We haven’t totally written this place off but we are pretty close.
