Nicholas Restaurant is absolutely fabulous. They are PACKED and from what some locals told me that is ALWAYS. I will start with the decor. Beautiful. And while the tables are close together it is suited here. Just make note that if you want a romantic setting this may not be where you'd want to pop the question. It is a little loud unless you're seated on the walls. Food!! Fantastic. Fresh and perfectly cooked. They start you off with a perfectly mixed Zaatar herb blend and some olive oil. Toss the herbs in and mix into the oil let is marry then dig the hot puffed bread they bring. Delicious. There is plenty of herbs and the mix is great also added to salad. I ordered the lamb kabob salad and I had food for 2 days. We started with the cauliflower and again HUGE portion. I joked it was the whole head of cauliflower and I doubt I'm wrong. My friend got the chicken and I tasted it and it was bold and flavorful the rice was delicious and I suggest you do not leave out the saffron rice. They have a full bar though we didn't have any cocktails I saw some gorgeous drinks being delivered to customers and wow just beautiful the presentation on those. I can recommend Nicholas Restaurant very highly. I've done over a thousand reviews of restaurants and this is in my top 5 of all time. When I get back this way again it will be on my to do list. The prices are low for the quality and quantity of food. I am in So Cal and the restaurants in the type of cuisine are double the price. I found that surprising in a good way. Fantastic and delicious!! Tell them Meek sent you. If this review helps you please...
Read moreBeen wanting to try this place for awhile now and finally got my parents to go with me for a fun food adventure! First off you get a huge piece of pita bread and a seasoned oil for dip, very satisfying and savory. I also tried an iced Turkish coffee, which to be honest tasted like many iced coffees I've had in the past. They added chocolate and caramel sauces as well as whip cream, so good but just not stand out.
We ordered kabobs, mezza, and shawarma with the help of our great waitress who answered all our questions. And all her recommendations were great, the mezza was especially nice since you got a sampling of so many different things it was a perfect way to get ntroduced to Lebanese food. The meats were all grilled and tender, all very delectable. The sides were varied and had great dressings or vinegars, they paired fabulously with the meats. The salad that accompanied the shawarma was especially nice since the dressing was slightly sweetened with mint leaves. Their falafel we're tender and moist, and very green inside. Tzatziki, hummus, and yogurt sauces we're available to go with all the meals, and a super fluffy and flavorful Jasmine saffron rice. Some if the best I've had, a lot of flavor on it's own but not too overwhelming.
And to top it all off we got a baklava as well. It had a thick layer if the walnuts mixture between a couple bunched layers if the puff pastry, so a little thick and sugary but overall still very good! Would highly recommend and already looking forward to...
Read moreMost of the time, my sister would order a couple of entrées, taste a bit of everything and I would finish up her food (in addition to my order). But our Nicholas Restaurant experience is an exception - she finished her big plate, and as she puts it - "Mmmmmmm.... this is exceptionally delectable."
So last December we had our Nicholas Lebanese experience for lunch with family friends. We had to place our reservations a day before the actual day, as we were told the resto only accepts reservations a day before.
Parking was easy, interiors and overall feel was homey, and the customer service was topnotch. Covid-10 precautions were also implemented, so we felt safe.
Now to the best part - the FOOD.
We are visitors here in Gresham, but prior to our arrival, our host already sent us a loist places to go to, activities to experience, and restaurants to try. Nicholas is on the list.
Every. Dish. On. The. Menu. Was. De-licious. Fusion of flavors felt like a feast for my taste buds, and I am pretty sure I closed my eyes, saod Mhmmmmmm, and slowly chewed on on my beef shawarma dish. Tender meat, perfect blend of spices and herbs, and rice that is perfectly steamed and complementing.
We all ordered different dishes, all in generous servings, and most of us left with clean plates and happy tummies. Desserts and coffee were just to good to say the least. Oh I am craving as I write this review.
5 stars for the total...
