Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Griffin

What a total disappointment! If I could have given fewer stars, I would have! Way back when, I worked for Applebee's. I know for a fact that what happened tonight would have never been tolerated in any other Applebee's neighborhood grill! When we walked in, there were only 5 other tables occupied. So why the 3 servers who took notice of us patiently waiting to be sat, couldn't attend our seating arrangements is beyond me. Instead, we were looked at like we were in the wrong place. I should have realized then that that is exactly what had happened! We continued to wait. Finally, being sat well over five minutes later, we decided what to have. Then waited. Then we waited some more. Finally, we got our drinks. By then, they were very parched and highly annoyed. We opted to skip the appetizers and get straight to the main course. Will, believe it or not, we didn't have to wait for very long. At this point, I understand why!! I ordered a" Grilled Chicken Ceaser Salad." My husband ordered the Bourbon Street Steak. The server sat our plates down and then just walked away. When she returned, she looked at my husband with a grimace on her face. Pulling from her apron, two pre-packaged plastic fork and knife sets. She apologized and said, "Sorry, we don't have any clean silverware." Why on earth would you not have clean silverware at dinner time when only having 5 other tables occupied?? I told her, " No, thank you. I will wait." She did say it wouldn't be long. Then my husband took a phone call and lost the warm fizzle of his teeny tiny steak, and still had no proper cutlery, nor did I. Long story short, he opted to eat with plastic. Opps! It melted!! Imagine that!!!! Now he is eating steak that is cross contaminated with plastic. If I remember correctly, that is poisonous! He gave up! I am going to refrain from happy spirit fingers on my salad. The chicken tasted like the bagged chicken you bought to microwave from the store. My salad dressing did not taste like Ceaser, due to the fact that it had been watered down so much, and the lettuce, well, lets say it lost it's luster while waiting to greet my plate! Still no cutlery! We finally had to ask for a check because we basically had no server attendance. I do want to say that my long island ice tea was great!! Thank the heavans, I ordered two! It is what got me through dinner. Even if I had to ask someone as they were walking by for another! I do not recommend this restaurant for anyone. At this point, fast food would have been better!! It's not a date night place to go!! Spend your money wisely and...

Well for starters the whole restaurant was entirely quiet you could hear a pin drop there was no sound on TVs you could actually hear people's conversations in the next booth and even at the bar very uncomfortable atmosphere secondly we ordered our drinks and I brought them to us with the straw hanging out with paper on the end I prefer to put my own straw in my drink I just don't like people touching my straws there's too much germs out here these days 3rd when we ordered our appetizer of nachos they were cold I mean I'm used to having a little warmth to the nachos and then we ordered our meal which took a really long time and why were eating our appetizer waiting on our meal you cannot help him out over here the waitress talking to someone about losing a baby to SIDS just recently that is very traumatic I'm sure and I'm very sorry for that but sometimes things are too personal to share you really don't want to be putting things like that out on the floor I think that the waitresses need a little more training and customer service our waitress when she would come by and asked if we needed anything she would barely even stop long enough for us to swallow our food for us to tell her yes we do need something obviously you can see that our drinks are empty and she just keeps on going to the next table then we had to flag Kayla down again finally the meal comes out my son like the burger he ordered my dinner unlikely was not that hot at all there was warmth to it but it was like if it was hot here have been sitting there cooling for a few minutes before they even brought it out . the shrimp that was with my dinner was almost burnt totally did not like this food or the atmosphere and I can tell you I won't be back I don't care to hear other people's personal problems I like to go somewhere and sit and enjoy my dinner and a nice atmosphere this was totally so quiet it was uncomfortable almost to be there. I can tell you I won't be back and now I understand why they only had one part of the restaurant open to begin with they're not doing the business they need new management, new waitresses ,that are trained in customer service. Applebee's you get a one STAAR grade maybe in another lifetime you will be a profitable business the only thing you got going for yourself is your a corporate I'm sure I hope somebody reads this and does something good with this restaurant this was just a bad...

I would have given no stars if I could have. My family and I came to this restaurant tonight 7/3 and the server told us they could not accommodate us. She said they only had 1 server and that was the bartender. We had 16 ppl in our party and I guess they didn’t want to serve us. It was 10:00 and they don’t close til 12. The manager came to us and told us the same exact thing. She said we’re short it’s gonna be 25 minutes wait and we were more than willing to wait but they made sure that we didn’t wait. They talked us into leaving. Our business was not wanted!! We are all in town from Ohio and Virginia and I’ve never seen people turn down business the way they did..we were prepared to bless the waitress with a great tip because it’s a holiday weekend it’s a Sunday night and we understood the restaurant would be closing in two hours..and they probably were ready to go..but I am so upset they didn’t want our business and I’m sure the general manager or owner would have a problem with I'm this as well!!! The bartender and the waitress (who said she was getting off in 25 mins) which was one of the reasons they kept telling us we probably don’t wanna wait!! She was ready to get off and I’m so upset that we were not allowed the opportunity to order our food because they were ready to leave. They put emphasis on we “only have one waitress and my family is highly upset!! We had to settle for Ihop!! Our mouth was set on wings..quesadillas..won tons..etc..not breakfast but because they were being lazy we had to go elsewhere..this is...
