The food we had wasn't horrible and was worth what we paid for it. However, the very service was absolutely horrible! The host.... well, I should say the male that was ringing people out AND seating people was busy trying to juggle both lines by himself. He was nice. However, sat us at a broken table (wobbled so badly it would possibly cause a spilled drink). When our waitress came, we asked to move to the table behind us. No problem. When our drinks came, no straws were given nor offered. We ordered our food, and the witness never came back or even close to us to attempt to flag her down until our food came. I politely asked for straws and she didn't have any and had to go get them. While waiting on our food and even eating our meal, we could hear another worker openly talk about unprofessional topics, and it was such a loud conversation that they could be heard over top of not only my table conversation but even the tables/parties that were next to us. Speaking of which, while we were there, there were 2 tables not even attempted to be cleaned down/off from previous customers (no customers sitting there when we got there and stayed dirty the entire time), our neighbor table had a larger party and one persons food was just totally forgotten!
I have NEVER not tipped someone in my entire life and I still feel bad for it. This was our first trip to this Bob Evans location and unfortunately, it will 100% be our last. We will tell friends and family to go to Hagerstown or...
Read moreMy parents and I tried to eat at this restaurant last evening. Not too many cars in the parking lot, but I thought it was on account of the time. We were there before the "dinner rush."
We had eaten at this particular Bob Evans before and had good experiences. It had been awhile, but because of our previous experiences thought we'd go back. I'm not sure what has happened, but we stepped inside.
The hostess took us to a table by the windows, and we waited. We looked over our menus and made our selections. We waited for a waitress ... and waited ... for anybody ... waited about 10 to 15 minutes. Nobody seemed to notice us.
All other patrons were seated at booths on the inside of the restaurant. Maybe nobody was assigned to our table. We noticed that the Cracker Barrel across the street was not too busy, so we simply got up and left. First time I think we ever left a restaurant under such circumstances. They did not seem overly busy.
Gathering from what others have said in their own reviews, it looks like we are not the first to be disappointed by this...
Read moreHad breakfast here on a weekday morning. It appeared they might have been a little short staffed, but our waitress was great despite being very busy. She was friendly and attentive and did her best to keep our coffee mugs full. They used to provide a pot of coffee for the table, guess they don't do that anymore. I liked that better, plus it was less work for servers!
The food was overall very good. I had a veggie omelette which was filled with fresh, perfectly cooked veggies. Not soggy or over-done. It was a little too greasy, that's my only complaint. The hash browns were ok, nothing spectacular. Rye toast was quite good. Others at our table had French toast which they thoroughly enjoyed, as well as bacon and eggs.
The coffee here is awesome, some of the best of all the restaurants around. It's not weak, not at all bitter, and has a wonderful flavor.
The food here is a bit expensive, but it is of good quality. It's not a place I'd go to on a regular basis due to the cost, but it makes a great treat. Perfect location for...
