What a major disappointment our evening out turned out to be. This was to be a treat for my wife’s birthday. 4 of us were seated by 6pm. Dining room was still sporting many empty tables all around us. Drinks and bread were brought to the table fairly quick. 25 minutes passed before we were finally able to order our appetizers and dinner. Took another 25 minutes to finally get our appetizers. Food was delicious! Sadly, the evening got worse. Waiting time for our meal was absolutely ridiculous. By 7:10pm we still hadn’t been served. No updates on the status of our meals, no excuses or apologies. We told our waiter to put everything in to go boxes. We’d had enough. Manager was out and about cleaning tables showing no concern. We watched the dining room fill up while also receiving their meals. We sat patiently for as long as we could stand. Still no dinner…. Spoke with the manager and explained that we were still waiting for our dinner to no avail. and later requested a discount for experiencing such terrible service. Declined to do so. Manager was told we hadn’t waited that long yet there we were… no dinner after nearly 1 1/2 hours. Manager was composed and seemed to be inexperienced but continued to insist we weren’t waiting too long…. Trying to shift or deflect blame on us. We enjoy fine dining and generally spend a lot to enjoy good food and good service. We’ve been dining at Steamers for years. In fact, we had family from out of town and treated them all to Steamers. $800 evening. Service and food were incredible and family really enjoyed the evening. Last night… $300 down the tubes…. We won’t be back and we’ll share our experience with friends and family. Sadly, restaurants are struggling to get and keep good help. Service in the area has been getting worse. Other businesses are struggling too. For the price people pay to enjoy dining at these restaurants, customers should get their money’s worth. Recommend everyone to...
Read moreA Mother's Day dinner ruined. Seated promptly by a nice host. Drinks came pretty quick but were not refilled. Bloody Mary was laughable for the $10 they charged for it. Appetizers were the only good part. We tried for 10 minutes to flag a waitress down to have our drinks refilled. Food came out and I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The amount of money we paid for the sub par food was ridiculous. Soft shell crab poboy...1 crab on sandwich that was so small it barely took up half the sandwich. Mostly bread that was torn off and not eaten. It came with a cup of gumbo...we asked for a bowl and wouldn't have minded paying the upcharge but when we received the cup, we asked about the bowl and was rudely told that it only comes with a cup. Good thing though because the roux was burnt and gumbo was gross. My mother got the wrong sides which was remedied. I can't eat seafood so I asked the waitress if I could sub the shrimp on the mixed grill for chicken....they gave me 1 chicken strip for a handful of shrimp. $29 dollars for 3 Walmart chicken strips and a 2 inch piece of sausage. Are you kidding me?! I had to scream ma'am across the restaurant for our waitress to acknowledge us for napkins and some butter, then she didn't being the napkins. Manager heard me and just looked. Never walked over to check on us or anything. My daughter got up and got them herself. Nothing was bussed and we had salad/bread plates sitting for a long time. Late last night my son in law ended up with food poisoning from the fish he ate. $200 bill for a horrible experience. Bad service, bad food, and food poisoning. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS. They do not...
Read moreAwesome experience. I would give them 6 stars if I could.
Service Great service from everyone here, particularly Eddie who was exceptional. Very prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, fun, had great suggestions and menu descriptions, kept our glasses full, our orders were correct, he anticipated our needs, just fantastic. Other servers supported him like a true team. Our server even volunteered to and arranged a shuttle bus for us after dinner. Overall excellent service that should be a model for other restaurants. Reflects well on the staff as well as the leadership here.
Food Food was likewise exceptional. Delicious, perfectly prepared, dishes all came out together and very quickly, sauces and accompaniments (sp?) were perfect. From thick steaks to salmon fillets to a menagerie of seafood, the food was all expertly prepared and could not have been better.
Management I spoke briefly with the manager at the end of our visit and like a true leader he put all the credit on his wait and kitchen staff. He was gracious about the feedback, and encouraged us to come back for another visit.
Pricing As could be expected at a casino establishment the prcing at first seemed a little high. It was a little less expensive than the other restaurants inside the casino proper, but still higher than one might expect at a similar standalone restaurant. However in the end, eith the service and food quality this restaurant is punching way above its proverbial weight class. The total bill was much lower than we expected for 6 premium dishes with two rounds of drinks. Overall a great value bar none. This place is now my number one pick...
