I eat breakfast with my grandmother and my children almost every Sunday morning at the Guntersville, AL Cracker Barrel location. We have been meeting here for the past 2 years. This particular Sunday morning around 8:30am on 3/3/24, we had a new waitress serve us. She was an older woman with a sweet personality, and her name was Belle. When we were first seated and ordered our drinks, it took over 10 minutes before we were brought our drinks, and when she brought them, she gave my two son's (ages 4 and 5) glass drinks!!! As many times as we went there, the servers have never brought out glass drinks to my young children for them to spill over. I had to ask her to replace the glass cups with to go cups, and when she brought them back to our table, they had coffee cup lids on them!! The straws barely would go in the lids and had to take the top off them anyways to drink out of! Then, we did not get our normal basket of biscuits and jelly that we have always been served shortly after getting our drinks. That is one of the highlights we love eating at Cracker Barrel, is the fresh warm biscuits. When she brought our food to our table, I asked her if we could get biscuits, and she said the policy had changed and we now have to ask for a basket of biscuits if we would like them. Is this a true policy change? We looked around and everyone had a basket of biscuits that I am sure was not asked for, as we had never had to ask for them before yesterday. Anyways, when she walked off, my grandmother realized she was not given her biscuit and gravy. We waited over 10 minutes again for her to come back to our table, as well as needing refills. My 14-year-old daughter had to eventually walk up to the kitchen opening and tell another waitress about missing gravy from an order. 5 minutes later she finally brought it to the table, which then we asked for refills, more napkins, and ketchup. She never came by our table to see if we needed anything, except when it was time to hand us the bill. At one point, I had to take our empty plates and place them on the empty table behind us, just so we would have room to continue to eat. There were 5 of us at a 4-chair table, because the person sitting us pulled a chair to then end of the table for my child, which we said was okay and agreed to, but we did not have service to keep room on our table as expected. I could understand if it was busy, but there was hardly anyone sitting in our section, besides two other tables that were occupied. We have been on busy mornings, where it was packed, table to table, and we had way better attentive service than we did yesterday. It was just a horrible experience, and we did not enjoy our food at all because of poor service from Belle. We did leave her a small tip but when we go back, we will be sure to request not to be in Belle's section. I have never left a negative review or complaint before for Cracker Barrel, but this experience definitely called for...
Read moreBurger is always overcooked every time I come here. Plus the servers are always more busy talking with each other, giggling and messing around with their cell phones than they are actually doing their job. I finally ended up getting a refill for myself and my party when I picked up the glasses and started walking up to just refill the damn things myself.
The servers need the whip cracked over them. The first time I've been here a month ago, I had a red apron donning server tell me to not sign when I spoke, her words were "Don't wave your hands around". I'm deaf, I sign when I speak in the off chance someone else can sign back to me making my life easier.
This place is very obviously mismanaged and it's very obvious the servers get special treatment there, otherwise they'd be doing their jobs instead of being rude to the customers (while also violating the Americans with Disabilities Act) and instead of standing around giggling with each other and messing with their phones.
I will not come here again. Service is terrible, and so are their burgers, the one thing this place should be able to get right is a burger, and they fail at even that. Ask for a medium well burger, and it's well done. Can't get a hold of a server until you stand up and start walking up to them or the kitchen to fix things yourself.
If you're a manager at this place and you're reading this. Start managing the place, your servers need disciplined something fierce.
Also, how the hell do you mess up food so bad that it's not only overcooked but ice cold upon arrival to the table? I Don't blame the kitchen for the food being cold, I blame the servers who stand around talking and tapping at their phones.
It's also worth noting it wasn't terribly busy when we came, nor was it a special holiday nor was it the weekend, just to...
Read moreI have never had a worse experience at ANY restaurant in my 33 years of life. Our waiter got my daughters drink order wrong and I told her to just wait until it's empty and then have it changed but when we went to do that our waiter told me that he wasn't gonna charge twice because he was being nice, but he's supposed to charge for another drink which is not the case at all, especially for an order that he got wrong and the drinks were "bottomless refills" and the same price. I brought this to his attention and said that he was being rude and that I was not going to tip and that I was going to file a complaint. He came to apologize and I told him I didn't want to speak to him and that his rudeness has already ruined my experience. Another employee asked if I needed a manager, I said that would probably be best. At this point a kid named Jairn came to ask me what the issue was and mid explaining he rudely interrupted me and said that his employee said I was being rude, I told him that if he wasn't going to listen to my complaint and hear me out I would be rude with him as well to which I was told to leave. I will NEVER be back to the guntersville location and would love to see these two employees either retrained on customer service or finding new jobs that they care about enough to do their jobs correctly. I am a top 20% reviewer for Google reviews and I rarely ever make a review like this but here I am. To be treated like this on Father's Day is an absolute shame. Blurry photo of the kid...
