6-5-25 I was picking up some new clothes I needed for the next day for an emergency family function the next day. The store closes at 8:00 PM. I came in about 7:25 and had to try some things on. I finally managed to find a few things, tried them on as quickly as I could and one of the items didnât have proper tagging and wasnât in the right place to know if it was on sale or not. My friend took an item to the counter to check the price and no one was available to answer the question in a timely manner. That pushed us over the 8:00pm mark waiting for price confirmation. I had roughly around $500 worth of merchandise to buy and that was after the sale price. The male employee came over the intercom as I was walking out of the dressing room and said to bring your final selections to the register. I walked up at 8:02 hoping to quickly check out. When I asked politely where he wanted me to check out, he said the store closes at 8:00. I said I was aware but we had to get a price check. He went on to snidely say â I announced it many times over the intercom that were going to close.â He refused to check us out and let the store lose out on almost $500 worth of sales.if ai walked up 10 mins or even 7 mins after closing I would be like, I get it. However their slow response on the price check is what ran us late When we said we never encountered a store that wouldnât check you out 2 mins after closing he blamed it on corporate. He said that BELK corporate remotely shut down their registers at 8:00 pm on the dot. So he blamed his incompetence and laziness on management and BELK corporate. By his lie and logic, if they had three people that needed to check out at 7:59PM and he could only check out one before 8PM then the next two would not be able to check out at all because the registers shut themselves off at 8:00 PM. I hope someone who manages this store sees this so you know that this is how one of your employees handle your store. I will be contacting Belk corporate and see if they will let me contact the...
Read moreIf I need to dress up a bit for something and wanna update my simple shirt, tie, and khaki set-up Belks always seems to have what I need. Also sadly twice when ive been called upon to be a pallbearer at a family funeral I needed to dress up a bit more and bought a blazer with shirt and tie once and another time bought, I guess what you call, a full suit top and suit pants set. They also have alot of name brand casual mens clothes. They have tons of womens clothes but I can only tell you its alot of stuff. They have really nice name brand cologne and perfumes. They also sale shoes and tons of stuff im forgetting. Another possibly helpful thing for a guy like me that dosent go shopping often especially for dressier type clothes... If you are buying a full long sleeved button shirt "the type you wear a tie with" at Belks they have multiple brands that start at a more expensive price and go down. They have probably 5 of the same color just keep looking and decide how much you need to spend for quality or possibly a little better fit. They also have goony guy proof shirts in clear plastic boxes already matched with ties so you dont mess that part up. The more you look around the better deals you will find. I think they get better toward the back of the mens section but that might just be a...
Read moreIf I could give a zero, I would. This store is absolutely HORRIBLE with the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I've worked retail in the past, so I know what's expected and how customers should be treated. These clerks, though, don't have a clue. When I had an issue with an exchange, I asked to see a manager. Of course, no store manager (Teresa) was on duty, so that meant I had to deal with Loretta (a clerk) and Chasity (a clerk who had no idea how to handle an exchange). She refused to do my even exchange even though I had the tags on the item and proof of purchase. In other words, she opted to lose a longtime customer rather than let me exchange a shirt for a new size. UNBELIEVABLE! Given that Belk recently filed for bankruptcy and has had many vendors cancel contracts with them, you would think the last thing they'd want to do is lose customers. Such was NOT the...
