Ok for atmosphere, definitely a win! I loved the hole in the wall vibe that they totally ran with. I was super excited to go here because we heard the seafood was AMAZING and typically at places like this it is. I’m also going to say the service was incredible! The ladies we interacted with were so sweet and went over and beyond for us. Now to the food… I got the coconut shrimp, Cajun corn, and hush puppies. Being a southerner and having lived in Georgia and Florida I am very familiar with these items. The coconut shrimp barely tasted like coconut, the dip seemed to have more coconut than the shrimp itself, the texture of the actual shrimp was weird. The batter was nice and crispy though. The hush puppies were ok, the center tasted like it had been frozen for too long and then cooked, but the outer was nice and crispy. I’m not sure what was Cajun about the corn. I’ve had Cajun corn many places and this one had no spices, no flavor, literally just tasted like boiled corn. That was a pretty big disappointment because when you hear Cajun you want those powerful flavors. The rest of the fam was disappointed as well. I will say the okra was good, and the snow crab legs were decent. Cocktails next - worst margarita I’ve ever had in my life. The amount of tequila was perfect but whatever mixers they are using was Blegh. I watched them make an old fashioned and that was rough. I don’t think whoever was working the bar actually knew how to make cocktails. And not that this place is known for its cocktails but I feel like margaritas and an old fashioned is pretty basic. Just a quick Google search will lead to some simple but tasteful recipes. I ended up switching to a Coke just because I didn’t want to try any more beverages. If you go here maybe stick with a beer or soda. Do I regret going? Absolutely not! The live music and the atmosphere was the most Alabaman thing we’ve done all week. I wish the food and drinks had lived up to the hype.

Louisiana native decided to finally try this place after being hesitant from 11 years. Went for their 3 pounds for the price of two crawfish that i saw them advertising on Facebook. Ordered their appetizer basket. They had too many corn nuggets in it and not near enough jalapeño hush puppies. The hush puppies were the best the corn nuggets were bland. My friend said the fried mushrooms were good. The ranch was fire. The crawfish was decent sized, some big ones but mostly smaller sized ones. They weren’t the freshest but they were definitely a pleasure to eat once i did make my sauce. While boiling them they need more salt and citrus. I had to make my own crawfish sauce at the table but the waitress was nice enough to bring the stuff to me. Servers name was Tiffany she was great. All the food was hot and when we got it and we got our stuff quickly. It was a Thursday night so it wasn’t packed but they still had a good crowd in there. Maybe change the TVs from baseball. Overall a good experience though i would go back.

So good last night, I had to bring my husband to experience this dive. We have a seafood restaurant in Louisiana and this is like eating at home. I would love to see the kitchen and talk over some seasonings. I just really cannot tell you how much we were all impressed by all the different foods and flavors. Just absolutely great! It took us a month after being here to come, because seriously, we're from where the best seafood is. By chance we had a function here the night before and I have found a goldmine of fantastic flavor. Servers are friendly, atmosphere is family, MGMT/owners are visible and take pride. Glad to have made it in, finally!

Ok... We eat at a LOT of places and I feel that we know good food and good atmosphere. From sushi to Italian, seafood to burgers and from the Gulf of Mexico, to the coast of Croatia, we TRULY enjoy eating. We went tonight to Crawmammas becuase of reviews that we have heard.. The atmosphere caught us off guard and was REAL. The place had a "feel" to it. The hostesses were not little frilly "foo foos, but girls from the area who knew what they were doing. We decided to go where the band was "outside" which was an enclosed area with heaters (it was chilly tonight). They had an indoor PLAYGROUND!!! No one told us about a PLAYGROUND!!!! OMG!! We had our 7 year old twins with us and wanted to spend the day with them and not get a sitter. Guess what? We didnt need a sitter tonight! The kids played with some "regulars" kids all night as the band played... We ordered a jalapeño crab stuffed appetizer that was great, 1/2 pound of crawfish tails, and a huge steamed seafood platter with snow and Alaskan crab legs, shrimp, and new potatoes and corn on the cob. The seafood was steamed to perfection.. We have not had a better meal even on the gulf. The portions were great, the drinks were perfect, the atmosphere was totally "Lake Guntersville" and the service was excellent. Our server, Tyler, was spot on and very friendly and attentive. He even met us at the register after we paid (not knowing at all that we tipped well), and shot the bull and showed passion beyond what we normally see in a server.. The manager or fellow at the checkout was sure to ask how our meal was, and was VERY focused on our response. Long story short, we have a NEW favorite place. We live around an hour away, but Crawmammas is going to see a LOT of us in the future.. They had a PLAYGROUND INDOORS!! Did I mention...

Love, love, love this place! Food, portions, service, atmosphere are all absolutely top notch! 30 seconds from the time we walked through the front door, we were seated. Another 30 seconds and the extremely friendly and knowledgeable waitress was taking our drink order. Another 20 minutes (or less) and food was on the table. My wife had the fried clam strips and they came in a BASKET. She could not eat them all. Only disappointment was that she couldn't eat them all because they were so dang good. I had the crawfish boil. Absolutely the best I've ever had. Seasoning was spot on and the portions were far more than I expected (boils come in a LARGE bowl) and was cooked perfectly. ALL of the staff were friendly, and truly treated all customers like family. Everyone working the floor were attentive to everyone's needs and made sure drinks were topped off and everyone had everything they needed. This was the first time in a very long time (as in years) that we have eaten out and never once had to look for our server for refills or anything else to enjoy our meals. Atmosphere is very laid back and comfortable....REALLY comfortable. This was by far the most enjoyable dining experience that we have had in a very long time. Cudos to the staff and owners for getting it right and understanding what it takes to get it right: great atmosphere, prompt friendly service, fantastic food with generous portions at a fair price. There are an awful lot of food establishments out there could benefit tremendously if they were more like Crawmamas. Our absolute new favorite place to go...
