Great Wall Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Hackensack

Fantastic experience. Ordered fried wanton, rib, fries combo, it was delicious. I ordered 4 order of chicken and broccoli They made it fresh and ordered 4 almond cookies which was very delicious. I would definitely go back on my next holiday weekend.

01/05/2024 I had ordered for Christmas, New Years and today 01/05/2024

And consistently, got the same orders Spare Ribs with fried Rice Chicken and Broccoli with fried Rice Chicken Curry with onions Lunch menu and it’s well worth the price! The ribs, melt off your bone delicious especially when you get it when it’s freshly cooked! I even left it over night in my fridge the next day and yes it still was very good

The chicken and Broccoli, I love it very much, reminds me of my old days living in Brooklyn NY ordering Chinese food

Same for the chicken Curry, I’m not too familiar but it tastes very good

I even ordered the 4 wings and pork fried rice, someone commented they only got 4 pieces of pork, I got more than that but what do you expect? It’s tiny pieces of pork not a thigh or something

I even got their almond cookies, trust me, it’s light and not too sweet like most cookies are and satisfying your sweet tooth

03/01/24 Got my usual , I order this many times often Chicken Curry and onions and Chicken and Broccoli, both lunch menu and both very delicious, comes with fried rice and a soda Even got my favorite Almond Cookies, it’s light, not too sweet and delicious

I definitely look forward to my next order

I went and ordered my favorite, chicken and broccoli and tried something new, Szechuan chicken. It was very delicious! It says spicy but it’s not bad, if you are weak to spicy you can get it, it’s not that spicy. Kind of like Korean BBQ sauce. I got my favorite almond cookies as well, it’s not heavy sweet, it’s light sweet so even if you have diabetes, you can enjoy!

Today, they even sold mini key chain figures, I had to buy 2 pandas, looks so cool

I love coming here for food, it’s a family owned business and they are very nice people. I look forward to my next visit

Definitely love the Szechuan chicken but my favorite also is the mini figurines, I love buying them. Not only are they cool looking, you can gift them to your loved ones and they will love it too

I’ve been ordering from this place for at least 2 years now and there has never been any issues until now. We have ordered at least once a week consistently and our orders are always around $40- over $50. They got 2 out of 4 of my orders WRONG and had the audacity to ask for the wrong food back. For what? That’s disgusting. After going back and forth and them treating me like they don’t know me, they agreed to send over the right order which was plain chicken wings with plain fried rice. They initially sent the wings covered in sauce I didn’t even ask for. You know what they did? They called back to tell me that they didn’t need the wrong order back but failed to tell me why. They ended up delivering ONLY the wings. So now it’s already 8pm and I initially placed the order at 6. At this point I told them don’t even bother sending the rice, it’s late. They sent it over anyway after I asked for a refund instead. They told me a manager would call me. An hour goes by, still no call. I called back, speak to a manager who tells me I have to return the food for a refund. In my entire life, I’ve never had bad Chinese food until today. It was so bad, I felt compelled to write a review to warn others.

Wonton soup: broth was flavorless, wontons were super thick and doughy, very chewy and barely any filling.

Pork fried rice: had 2-3 tiny pieces of pork. I’m not exaggerating, lacked flavor.

Pepper steak: chewy gristle like pieces, barely any steak and mostly peppers and onions, very little flavor… I had to put soy sauce and oyster sauce I keep at home to make this edible.

General Tso Chicken: thick, doughy, barely any meat, soggy (not crunchy like you’d expect something fried to be). Meat had a weird texture and flavor, like it was fried from frozen. Tso sauce was actually decent.

Beef and Broccoli: basic, nothing special, lacked flavor and needed soy sauce and oyster sauce I keep at home to make this edible.

Crab sticks: basic, nothing special but the included tartar sauce packets were chunky and spoiled, making me believe they’re out of date.

2/10. Skip this place. I spent $65 on my entire order and it was not worth it. Literally order Chinese anywhere else in Hackensack/Teaneck. I only ordered here because it was one of the only Chinese restaurants open...
