Decided to venture with my family for a bite of some indian food in my area and came across Tandoori Chef. The place looks pretty ligit from all the other reviews and picture posted on Google and decided to give a try, but was quickly not impressed once there. The service was a bit slow and the food was not worth the wait...and we did wait a little while before being served. My wife and I had a few different items and didn't care to finish our food because much of it had no taste nor flavor. Not worth the price we paid and I feel like we were overcharged at the end.
What bothered me the most though about my experience at this place was that I felt some racism while there. A few minutes after arriving and being seated an indian family arrived and their order was taken right away and were served shortly after. We were still waiting for someone to take our order. Finally our order was taken. And we waited and waited and waited. While waiting, another indian family comes, their order was taken right away and they were served before us. Upsetting to say the least and wanted to leave, but my family and I were hungry so decided to wait to be served last. Perhaps this is why the service was slow for us. I have a Spanish name but I'm actually indian just grew up in a Spanish country. I'm not proud right now to be Indian because of how I was treated. You people make all the good indian people look bad. Another thing there were some indian kids (i call them kids because they were behaving like kids) there...look like college students having dinner and were talking obsenely loud like they were at a bar and at one point yelling out the f word to each other like drunk retards. You'd think the staff would say something, but kept quiet. I had to tell them to not say the word because of my daughter being present. Shame on you. Don't you have any respect.
Needless to say, I won't be going back here anytime...
Read moreI should not even give 1 star if there was such an option. I ordered pure veg food for my birthday party and every one in birthday party was pure vegetarian. I personally called owner and ordered veg food. I mentioned it is vegetarian biryani and he confirmed the same. He delivered food and we didn't see what he sent till the time we started dinner. We never realized it was chicken biryani as we started with bread and vegetables first. One kid pick biryani and started eating and then she realized that it had some different taste and something was not right. Then when we checked, it was chicken piece and it was whole chicken biryani. We called restaurant , response was not good. Called owner and he said i can send veg biryani but we were already very late so we ordered pizza for kids. We asked for refund and he told that he could refund only biryani and nothing else. He asked us to call cops and do whatever we could and he didn't even care. This is my last order with them. I was a very loyal customer from past 7 years but today they just broke my trust. Whole food is lying down at our home while I am writing this as no one believed that other food was pure veg so everyone left...
Read moreI was craving some Indian food and this place hit the spot. I ordered over the phone and was told it would take 30 minutes. I got the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala (both dishes were $15 each). Both were full of flavorful and amazing. The chicken in the tikka masala was on the saltier side, but the meat was tender and wasn't dry.
I came here mainly because the other reviews said that the portion sizes are very generous, which I agree with. There is enough meat and sauce for twice the amount of rice that they give you. You could order another side of rice and it would last you two meals.
As far as I could tell, there is only metered street parking and no parking lot.
During the pandemic, I would have expected the employees to be wearing masks, but they did not so I deducted one star. Other than that, the food here is great and I definitely would...
