This diner was on our list to try since it opened. We walked in and weāre promptly seated. There was some renovation to the diner but most of the fixes seemed cheap and it still appeared dingy. The wait staff was sparse all younger type kids that were aloof. They didnāt know soups for the day. The Waitress ālet me checkā no less than three times. There is definitely a variety of classic diner dishes so this is what we decided on. The turkey dinner and a turkey club. We started with onion rings as an appetizer. They arrived greasy and cool with our meal. The matzo ball soup was meh needed salt and soup never usually requires salt. The matzo ball arrive broken and sunk, strange presentation. The turkey gravy on the plate appeared sweet . The entree was cold in the middle. We asked the waitress to take back wasnāt to our liking. She said āare you sureā ahh yes weāre sure. She said let me bring you the menu to see if you want something different. She never came back with the menu. All in all we wonāt be returning at least for a long time. We will let you work out the kinks. The price point is high in line with Ponzios except ponzios has a different quality . No one asked on checkout how was your meal otherwise I would have been happy to share . Waitress...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThere are plenty of options of where to eat in Westmont. We picked the diner and couldn't be happier. It is BYOB for those who like to to have a beer or a glass of wine with their food. The food was really good, typical diner food, with all the choices it comes with. I had the ribeye, which was perfectly cooked, a baked potato and mixed vegetables. It came with choice of soup (Matzo or chicken noodle)/salad and baked/mashed potatoes. The soup was delicious.
My wife had the Monte Cristo sandwich and my son had a grilled cheese with bacon on it. They both enjoyed it - and they are both picky eaters.
Seating area is not huge, but plenty of space between the booths and tables. It looks like it was renovated somewhat recently. It doesn't look like a "typical, outdated" diner. The men's restroom was clean and spotless, though it probably could use an update.
Our server was Lizette. She was great and attentive, at the right moments. We will definitely eat...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpon initial observation, the establishment appears to be a modest diner with restricted parking availability. However, upon further inspection, ample street parking is accessible during morning hours. Despite its diminutive size, the diner exhibits a remarkable capacity for hospitality. The service provided is both attentive and unobtrusive, ensuring a comfortable dining experience. The culinary offerings are of exceptional quality and are served in generous portions. Notably, the omelets are particularly noteworthy for their substantial size. We highly recommend the meat-lover omelets. Additionally, I opted to accompany my meal with a side of perfectly cooked, well-done bacon and a serving of delectable vegetable...
