I wish I could give this place five stars because they have the potential. Unfortunately, they squander that potential. The food is great. The Brooklyn Style Pizza is by far my favorite pizza that I've ever had. Their wings are crispy and big and better than Healthy Garden's - another local establishment known for excellent wings.
Where they fall short is their workflow. Consistently, I call for pickup orders and they always tell me a standard "20 minutes". The problem with that is that IT'S NOT ACCURATE! Often times the wait is only 10 minutes! And when I go to pay, my food is sitting on a counter getting cold. And yes, when I bring it home...it's cold! One could argue they could at least put it in the oven. Well, they do- and it does not keep the food warm. Tsk tsk. You still end up with cold pizza.
Another thing: during this COVID-19 era, I ordered for pickup around 6:00 p.m. - a very busy time. And they had a terrible way of organizing inside! There was ONE line for people who ordered in person and are waiting for pickup, others who ordered online, and by phone. It was disorganized and their staff was putting out orders and not calling them out! So food was just sitting there and getting cold and people were delayed!
These are basic things that restaurants should be doing. And this is why it's a disappointment. You're getting the easy stuff wrong. You're not picking the low-hanging fruit.
Another disappointment is the blue cheese that they give with their wings. It's just a small 1.5 oz container of Ken's blue cheese! For a place that boldly advertises that they make fresh bread daily, this is appalling. For a restaurant that provides quality food, this is appalling. Have better standards for the condiments you give your customers! Also, they charge $0.59 for an extra 3 oz. That's just ridiculous. If you go to Healthy Garden you'll get a big container of fantastic blue cheese with lots of chunks.
Also, their drivers and food prep workers need to show more professionalism. I'll...
Read moreIf it wasn't for Enrico the manager, I would've given this place a 1 star. Don't get me wrong, we have been loyal Passariello customers for two years but today was probably the worst service I have received in all the times I've been there. I placed an order for a gluten free pizza and was told that the pizza would take 10 minutes to make. I chose a meat lovers pizza for toppings, and the pizza that came barely had 8 slices of pepperoni an 3 teaspoons of bacon. Never in all the times I've been there have I seen such a sad pizza. I waited 20 minutes for this pizza, and I had to go pick it up myself when I was told it would be brought to me. At first I was hungry so I sat down with the bare pizza and started eating cheese and crust, but after about 2 minutes of chewing I realized..no, this is not the pizza I ordered, and I shouldn't have to eat a cheese pizza when I wanted a meat lovers especially when the gluten free pizza coats $12.99 for just the crust, then an additional $1.99/$2.99 depending on each topping of your choice. Gluten free is not a choice for celiacs, why are we paying more for less? So I went up to the counter and spoke with the pasta boy who was very sincere and helpful in getting the Manager for me. The wait was another 15 minutes for the Manager but Enrico basically agreed that the pizza was not what I ordered and offered a solution to the unhappy lunch. I was disappointed with the service from the pizza station, an older gentleman and a young boy who had the audacity to say bye after such disappointing service and food. Will we be back again? Yes, but I would not order the pizza again if it was the same duo...
Read moreWent yesterday night for the first time and was extremely disappointed. My wife ordered an entree and my son and I decided on a pizza. How long can a pizza take?? Try over an hour I ordered it at 6:23pm and after checking on it twice being told it will only be a couple more minutes it didn’t get served until 7:30pm.
I spoke to the manager who proceeded to give me excuses about hundreds of pizzas being ordered at the same time which ok I guess I have to take your word for it... but if I had known it would take an hour I would have ordered something else.
I don’t ask for much as a customer but came away feeling like the business really didn’t help manage my experience in a positive way. There was a large number of staff in the kitchen area and what appeared to be managers walking around and lots of shiny new equipment in the kitchen area all contributing to my confusion to why with all these elements in place should it take an hour and feel so disgusted.
The pizza I waited for turns out to be a bit on the bland side. It was the Works pizza and it was more doughy and not all that balanced in toppings, cheese and crust. It felt like a chain pizza rather than a pizza from one of the local pizzerias that are extremely abundant in south Jersey. My wife’s entree chicken marsala was more on the bland side also.
I wanted to like this place but I’ll never go back- I much rather seek out the many other local great Italian restaurants that are abundant in the...
