I have been told I am too picky with restaurants, but when I go out I have certain expectations. I will give El D 1 point ( instead of two they get three) for being a newly opened business with growing pains. I went in for a pick up I was told would be ready in 20 min. I got there a little early. My order wasn't ready for more than 30 after I walked in. Not earth shattering. I stood at the bar unacknowledged for quite some time as did the 8 or so people who came in behind me. I was surprised as I stood there how there was no interaction between the staff and their customers. The call in tickets piled up next to the register. The gentleman behind the bar took a lot of time just standing and waiting at the window for food to be done so he could package the take outs instead of acknowledging us.. When given my order there was no welcoming banter, or "thanks for your patience" that you'd expect especially for a new business wanting to build up customers. I live 8 minutes from the restaurant. When I got home the food was cold. We ordered soups; the Eldorado which had no tilapia and the tortilla; both were cold. I looked up the El D and saw el fresco so I guess that was on me. I don't like cold soup. We ordered the street tacos, where corn is the only option for the shell. I had the burrito which was so so. Again it there was no warmth to it. I get they are newly opened and we usually give a place two to three chances before we write them off. So we will go back. I wish they would get flour tortillas for the tacos., so I can try them. My husband wasn't crazy for it either as it was cold. For those wondering about eat in. Yes they have booths and a full bar. I wish them luck as in this climate new businesses are already in danger.
Update; Went back with my sister for lunch. Much better experience! She both had burritos. Mine was very tasty. My sister was very happy with hers as well. Love the salsa verde. The margartitas were A+. In fact I bought a pitcher to go. Had a nice chat with Juan. He is a...
Read moreEl Dorado Tacos, where have you been all my life? We came. We saw. We unhinged our jaws and devoured everything in sight like polite little animals. And I’m not exaggerating when I say we’re already planning our next visit—and possibly a future where we move in next door.
Let’s start with the appetizer that changed my worldview: the queso with chorizo. Sweet heavenly cheesus. It arrived hot, melty, and bubbling like it was personally delivered from the volcanoes of flavor Valhalla. Chunks of spicy chorizo swimming in molten cheese? Yes. A thousand times yes. I briefly considered using it as cologne.
Then came the tacos—three of them, like a meat-based holy trinity. The birria was the definition of tender, juicy perfection. Like, I actually paused mid-bite to consider whether I had just blacked out for a moment. The pastor was sweet, spicy, and grilled to just the right amount of caramelized crisp. Pineapple on tacos? Yes, it works. Fight me. And the carne asada was like a love letter from a cow that lived a good life.
My wife had the al pastor chimichanga with tomatillo salsa, which was basically a deep-fried flavor torpedo straight to the soul. Crunchy, gooey, tangy, meaty—an emotional rollercoaster in the best way possible. She let me try one bite, but that was it. Her eyes said, “Touch it again and we’re getting a divorce.” Fair.
The staff were friendly, fast, and didn’t judge us for treating the table like it was an Olympic eating event. The vibe inside is relaxed, colorful, and just the right kind of cool where you feel like you're in on a secret.
Bottom line: El Dorado Tacos is the truth. Whether you’re a taco purist or just in the mood to drown in chorizo-laced cheese (no judgment), this place is worth every bite and every calorie. We left full, happy, and slightly ashamed of how much queso we consumed—but zero regrets. Five glorious, greasy, gold-plated...
Read moreEl Dorado provides casual dining with a dash of sophistication. Highly recommended for first dates and well beyond. At the time I am posting this 2 friends were in one booth, a large family in another and then myself. Plus, there was s gentleman waiting for a take out order
I've driven by this place so many times thinking there wasn't anything special in here but I was sure wrong!
As soon as you walk in, I was greeted by friendly staff and pleasant easy listening Mexican music. There is a bar with plenty of seating with 3 large screen TVs within view of the half of the dining booths. An enclosed case of various Tequilas and other spirits above the bar slowlt flashes with soft colors for a classy touch.
The menu offered plenty offering details of how dishes are prepared that I haven't seen anywhere else. This place offers home style cooking prepared in a modern stainless steel laden kitchen behind a wall of glass for patrons to observe the chef.
The picture I posted was Carne al Carbon. It was delicious. Prior to the meal l was offered warm chips and salsa. Soon, a bowl of Pozole soup was offered and then my main course.
Dinner cost 21.71 excluding the 5.00 tip.
The staff is impeccably dressed with...
