So I have been a fan of ubreakitifixit in Boca for a while now. But the location in Hallandale has really undone my appreciation for the brand. I went there because I dropped my iphone and needed a new screen. They replaced the screen and at first glance it looked fine. But closer looks and you could see that the replacement was not all that great. The home button was slow to respond, the glass was seemingly not all the way down, and most importantly, after 10 minutes, the microphone did not work any more and I couldn't take or make calls as noone could hear me.
So I bring the phone back and the guys at this Hallandale office then tell me that my phone has "obviously" gotten wet, show me some red indicator and then tell me they will need to replace another part for another 60 bucks. I protested a bit because, I didn't get the phone wet. But, based on my always positive experience with their Boca store, trusted them and requested they replace the part. While I waited, 3 people came in all complaining about their microphone not working. Hmmmm... So i come back and test the phone. It works. Unfortunately, less than a block a way the phone did not work again. I return to the store and the guy working the desk again gives me this crazy story about my phone getting wet...then i show him a blue light that is emanating from under the screen and how the home button is not responsive. He then makes this very sarcastic remark that he can give me my money back but he will need to take the part out. By the way, as I was listening to this guy yet another customer came in complaining about their microphone not working.
I took my phone to AT&T and they all remarked that it looks like the screen was not installed correcttly. I am going to have to have someone else take a look.
I am disappointed in this store's service and honestly believe that they need new technicians. I wouldn't discount the entire chain but would NEVER recommend that someone take their devices to the location in Hallandale. So...
Read moreI dropped my Samsung Galaxy phone and damaged the charging port(tried 4+ chargers), and the phone wouldn't charge.
I went to uBreakiFix on Hallandale Beach Blvd. and was greated by Angels-Customer Rep. and explained my charging issue to him. He listened attentively and tried several attempts to get the phone to charge.
Angels then introduced me to the Repair Technician Danny and explained to him the situation.
All options to repair the phone as well as pricing were explained up front by Danny, and I must say that both Angels and Danny were both courteous, attentive, patient, and professional, and this put my mind at ease about my phone being damaged and after only several minutes of meeting and talking with them, I knew my broken phone was in the right hands, and even though they couldn't guarantee the outcome I was sure they were going to do their best to fix it...
The next day I received a phone call and was updated that before my phone was even taken apart, Danny cleaned the charging port and was able to get the phone to charge up... I am thankful and very impressed by the honesty of both Danny and Angels and in the way they treated me, as everyone knows that in today's world many people would of charged me dishonestly or even for the full repair...
uBreakiFix specifically on Hallandale Beach Blvd is the first and only place that I'd take my phone if it becomes damaged.
I highly recommend them to anyone experiencing phone troubles who may be reading this review.
Angels and Danny, thank you both again for your outstanding...
Read moreAlways had a good service in this location, although two days ago I had a terrible experience! My wife replaced her Iphone XS screen less than 2 months ago and paid 278.19 USD.
Two days ago out of the blue the screen turned green and unresponsive and when she went to the shop, the manager TRAY told her that were not able to do anything and the phone had "internal damage", all of this without even opening the phone, must probably caused by a hit. She takes a very good care of the phone and did never felt.
After I called and complained, he accepted to open the phone and take a look and came out with the answer that there was "water damage". The phone was never exposed to water and he said that even the steam from the shower could damage the phone. He offered a 10% off for a new replacement and even showed me a picture of the water damage (that I doubt was from our phone, because he never proof it was).
Finally today I went to another repair shop, where they in front of me opened the phone and showed that the screen did not have "any damage", neither physical nor caused by water and told me that was a defect from factory of the screen (BTW I paid 50% of what I paid in uBreakiFix).
I called the shop and the franchise and they said that once I opened the phone, the I lost any right to complained and invalidated the warranty!
So they DO NOT honor the warranty in their store and once you go to a third party and proof that they were wrong, they wash their hands.
Shame on...
