Tues Aug 12, 2025

We came for lunch before my physical therapy. I had the lunch Chicken Fajitas with a small cheese dip and sweet tea with lemon 🍋. It was good as always.

My husband had the Huevo Con Chorizo with a coffee. The coffee is devine. The Aztec Gods must be dancing and rejoicing, lol...

The server was so friendly.

As someone who has a knee replacement last week and using a walker and had to go to the toilet I can honestly say that the toilets are spacious and handicapped friendly. -see pictures.

There was even enough to bring home 2 to go.

I just need to add a little something that has nothing to do with the great quality and quantity of food. Since the coffee here is delicious, we have bought a few packets in the past. This coffee is sold from US Foods. But Plaza Mexico sells them at $3 a pack. But with inflation and increasing prices I checked to make sure with the server (I don't think it was the same server either). At first he said $20. I asked again because a pack is definitely NOT $20. But he said a box. Then another guy came by and said $60 a box. And then he said $80 to my husband. I asked how much a pack and he said $3 so I said I would take 6. He left to go to the kitchen and came back and said that they only had 4 packs left. Something did not sit right with me. I noticed that it was a gray pack and not the red pack so I said maybe next time so that got me out of buying it. We wanted the red pack (Rituals). But the differences of prices threw me off.

But like I said, this has nothing to do with the quality and quantity of food. I still give it a 5 star rating and a good review and will be coming back here ofter.

The food was delicious as always so I can't really update much. I had the chicken fajitas and my husband has fish tacos. I also had some Cheese sauce (Queso), it was to die for. I had sweet tea with lemon (yum) and he had coffee which he found delicious!

Update: Sunday Jan 29, 2923

We came here a year ago with some friends and I gave it a 5 star rating. Tonight I still give it a 5 star. I had the Pollo Fundido. The food was DELICIOUS! I even took home some Salsa.

Update: We came last night with an out of state friend and the food was superb as always. The staff was friendly and this place is still my Numero Uno place for Mexican food! I even bought some Salsa to take home. Guess what's for breakfast 😉

2 years ago. We were wanting to celebrate (I wanted Mexican Cuisine). We drove past a few Mexican restaurants but they were full. My husband knew I always wanted to try out Plaza Mexico so he headed there. It was not full but it had a good rating and we were not disappointed.

The food was DELICIOUS! I had the Chicken Fajitas (I always do at new Mexican restaurants) and my husband had the Plaza Mexico Chicken.

Mine: The vegetables were fresh and cooked just right. The chicken was moist. The rice was so soft and light. The Salsa was liquidy but yummy. The Sweet Tea tasted homemade not processed like in bottles or cans. And OMG, the guacamole was heavenly! Even the sour cream tasted just right and not too sour. I even brought home some tortilla chips.

Him: His chicken was not as big as another place we go to but it tasted more like real chicken. He liked the rice and vegetable but he would have wanted the cauliflower cooked a minute or two more but it was ok. He found that his unsweetened tea wasn’t the best though. He was happy that they had Pacifico (a beer) because not all places have it.

The music was lively. It did level off, I guess they did not pay attention but we mentioned it and they put it back on. It wasn’t a live band but music from a stereo system.

All in all it was most enjoyable. Plaza Mexico Mexican Grill is now my FAVORITE Mexican Restaurant.

I will probably have heartburn tonight when in bed but it was...

Super delicious food! Also had a couple margaritas. Highly recommend! 😋😋 was my first time coming and i will definitely be back! We werent rushed through ordering or our food. Everyone was very kind.

**edit... I came here again with my mom because of the amazing experience we had the first time...and this time was beyond subpar in comparison... We asked for a little time after ordering our drinks...she was leaving soon and we hadnt seen eachother in 4 almost 5 years...so we had some talking to do..some time passed and we noticed no one had come back..when we inquired they stated the kitchen had been closed. No warning..i inquired about the lack of notice and our waiter stated hed forgotten about us altogether....they made our food since we'd been there, but hers was messed up..she ordered no onions due to allergies and it was packed with onions...mine was not great. We left quite soon after. Idk if I'll be going back...though the drinks were still delicious. So thats a...

This is the best Mexican restaurant in the Knoxville area. The food is excellent both quality and flavor, the service is excellent, the quantities are quite large, the people are friendly. the outside looks like it might just be a bar and grill except for the name, but the food is worth waiting for, and you won't have to. 6/19/21 We took friends here, and they were as ecstatic about the food as we continue to be. This is our 4th or 5th time here, and we have never, ever been disappointed. 10/19/21 we are back again, and just as pleased as before. The fish tacos are the best in the area and my wife loves the chicken fajitas. Despite the superior quality of the food, it has never been crowded in here. I like it that way. Great for autistic and socially awkward people. 4/22/24 - yet another trip to this wonderful establishment. This time I got the Enchiladas Yolanda, My wife still got the...

Beware! I ordered a carry-out from this restaurant totaling $24.01, in which I left a $5 tip, making the total $29.01. A day later, I received a notification from the card transaction stating that a 15-dollar tip (62%) was processed. I called the manager, and he assured me it was a mistake and that he would return the tip amount in cash. So I returned in person to collect the stolen money and made them show the merchant copy to see if they altered it on paper. He found the copy, and they added a 1 in front of the 5, making it a $15 tip, and changed my $29 to $39. They did return my tip money in cash but I want everyone to beware if eating here.
