The staff was so confused about how to use their own mobile pay app, and about their own promo that is running for the entire month of September. The promo entitles every customer to a free Classic Single burger with every order purchased using their mobile app, even if we just simply use the mobile pay portion of their app. This caused all sorts of drama at that window when I was paying and trying to collect my burgers, even though I had just clearly stated that I was using their app to pay when I ordered, and asked them if I would get a free single as part of their promo when I placed my order. They confirmed that I would in fact get the free burger with my purchase, asked me to drive up, and then all hell broke loose.
The first girl working the window didn't know how to use their mobile pay system, though it seems rather simple- they just have to key in the 6 digit code that is displayed on my phone thru their app, which changes every 5 minutes so. She called over another girl, but all she could do is exclaim, "Oh that's Mobile Pay!" So the manager on duty got involved, but even she didn't know what to do, and was really rude to me. She told me I owed more money, even though they had already over charged me on my mobile pay app (they charged me for the free burger), so I explained, and showed her the mobile pay, and she said something to the effect of, "well you are not showing me that you are using the app, you are using mobile pay," to which I responded (while hitting the back key on my phone) "well there's only one way to get here and it's thru your mobile app!"
She eventually gave me $5+ cash back for the cost of the free burger because she clearly did not know how to properly use the mobile pay system, and I eventually got my burgers. They had to remake or at least reheat the burgers because they got cold during the extensive wait. I ended up spending my entire half hour lunch break at Wendy's, but at least the...
Read moreI have never had an experience like this before and any Wendy's I've ever gone to I went to the Wendy's in Hamden Connecticut on Dixwell Avenue today and aside from the fact that the manager and one of the other cashiers were actually giving death stairs two people behind the counter my partner and I both noticed it it was so weird I thought in any minute they were going to sleep on each other behind the counter. After ordering my Southwestern avocado salad and my four four four I waited for my meals to be prepared I was given a small size 1/2 size Southwestern avocado salad when I asked for a full size the problem was rectified quickly upon going back to the counter to pick up my salad I noticed that they had flopped three packets of light ranch dressing in the bag with my Southwestern avocado salad I asked them why I had light ranch dressing instead of Southwestern dressing at that point they said to me oh we've run out of Southwestern dressing and my question is if you know at the time that I ordered a Southwestern avocado salad that you no longer have the southwest dressing that is perfectly paired with this Southwestern avocado salad shouldn't that be something that you tell me at the point that I've ordered the salad? Perhaps when I find out that the dressing that is perfectly paired with this salad is not available at this time I might change my mind about ordering the salad. Wendy's had I not looked before I left I would have been pretty upset at the fact that I don't have the perfect pairing of my Southwest dressing to go along with my Southwest avocado salad and just imagine if I turned around and driven back and said I'm sorry you made a mistake you didn't give me the Southwest dressing only to discover well guess what we don't have Southwestern dressing today. Overall customer service communication skills and the manager was with one of the main culprits as she was right at the register and was the one who...
Read moreWorst place to eat whether dining in or ordering through drive-thru. I just left without getting anything. I was LITERALLY in the long drive thru line for 30 minutes. Yes, you heard that right...30 minutes smh. Once I finally get to the speaker box, I'm waiting another 10 mins for someone to take my order. I finally just drove up to the window and asked what was going on. The young girl and young guy working at the window were so rude and unprofessional. The young girl literally said, "you need to wait just like everyone else, we're making orders." Ok, so you mean to tell me in total I've been waiting 40 minutes in the drive thru and that's okay?? Also, all the employees that are on duty aren't working fast enough? You can't keep a short drive thru line? Mind you, I should've just left and went to McDonald's (which I ended up doing anyway) but I wanted a specific item from Wendy's (the restaurant was packed as well as I look through the windows). I ended up just driving off.
Why does it take almost an hour to place an order? Where is the customer service? Why is the drive thru line to the street? Where is the time management? I've worked at a fast food restaurant before and I know each car in the drive thru line has a time limit and you have to beat the time per car. Most importantly, who is training these unprofessional and rude employees?
All in all, I went to McDonald's (like I said before) because I know I'm never disappointed. Employees are professional, kind, patient and provide great customer service. I believe the longest I've waited in a drive thru line at ANY McDonald's has to be like 10 minutes.
I will never come back to this Wendy's and after my experience today, I probably would not go to any Wendy's for...
