El Picante — Restaurant in Hamilton Township

One of the worst meals I’ve eaten- honestly. I ordered three fish tacos that was supposed to come with mango salsa, pico de gallo, tomatillo sauce and lemons. What I GOT were three pieces of fish thrown in a tortilla no toppings, veggies or anything- each wrapped in foil and a side bowl of salsa and a lime. And because they were each wrapped in foil they were so soggy and falling apart- it was honestly awful to eat and I couldn’t finish it. When I questioned him where all the side sauces were- HE ACTUALLY tried to tell me that they were all mixed together in that bowl of salsa I got!. I just looked at him with a face of sheer disbelief he could try to pull one over like that on a customer. He knew he had been busted - but still did nothing about it. The ONLY saving grace was the margarita and chips/salsa were good. So if that’s all you want- this place is ok. But honestly DON’T eat here. I still can’t believe how bad it was and how that waiter tried to actually LIE...

I hate that I have to give this place a star at all. I love the location in Lebanon however it was late night and this location is closer to home so my husband and I settled. BIG MISTAKE! I told the waitress I wanted a beef chimichanga. The food was prepared quickly however I got shrimp. I politely sent it back and explained again that I wanted beef. She came out with the next plate & this time I got chicken...I politely sent it back again and at this point the waitresses were peeking from the kitchen probably annoyed as if i was the problem. She brings the 3rd plate out and I was disappointed and disgusted by the chef's actions. He sent me out a plate swimming in cheese I suppose to show me his annoyance... my husband was halfway done eating and I was in tears trying my hardest not to curse anyone out. This place is horrible. We were the only ones in the restaurant. I didn't eat and I felt like a zoo animal from all the stares from the staff....

I can't give it 5 stars for two reasons, but first let's start off with how good the food is. I've been here twice and the chips and salsa they start you out with is good and you can practically fill up on it. Then when you get your plate, it is a big plate. At least what I get, Guadalajara Special, so good even reheated. However... This place does not have the best service and I do not mean that they are not friendly. They are nice, but they are a little disorganized. It took 3 hosts to seat us, 2 waiters tried to serve us, and then we stopped eating because they started spraying chemicals to clean the tables that was potent enough you couldn't breath. Smelled like a combo of Windex and ammonia. At least they try and keep it clean, just need to bot use so much while people are eating at the next table. This has happened both times we've been there. I hope they can organize better and find a less potent cleaner, otherwise this...
