So I really wanted to give 5 stars. Let me start with the good. The bowls were absolutely delicious. I ordered a Jamaica Bowl(no honey), Caveman, and a tropical smoothie. DELICIOUS. This was my first time at a Frutta Bowl Cafe. My coworker told me about it, and insisted I try this place and since it is literally 5 mins from our job I was more than happy to try it. I went right after work I get out at 3:00pm. I arrived at the cafe @ 3:08 there were 2 people ahead of me that needed to order but there were at least 5 ppl waiting on their order . I ordered and 3 people ordered AFTER me. I was the last person to receive my order even though i was not the last person to order. That might not have been a problem if I had not left Frutta Bowl at 3:31. 30 MINUTES. I mean come on, that is entirely to long. I have read other reviews about other locations and that seems to be a consensus issue. If people are complaining about the same thing that has to mean that there is a problem. They decided to make all new bases while i was still waiting on my smoothie. I completely understand the need to have your products i really do. I was a supervisor for Starbucks for 3 yrs. BUT I would never have a customer standing waiting on her order and decided oh its time to make bases or have 3 employees making the bases someone should have been making my drink. I heard one girl say "did anyone make the smoothie". NO! The cafe is beautiful, the workers were very friendly, my bowl was delicious (I would probably want the same girl to make it I could tell she took making the bowl very serious it looked just like the picture) but the time make a big deal especially bc i would like to go there on my lunch break. my break is only for 30 mins i would hope not to spend my entire lunch break waiting for a fruit bowl i don't spend that much time anywhere and there is a whole strip of food options over here. Overall there is more positive then negative BUT time is a big deal. I will definitely try this place again but if this is the wait time ALL the time i would have to decline. Customer service is a big deal no matter how good your product is it can turn people away i know i am only one person but it still should be something upper management looks into. Less than friendly interactions with the younger daytime staff is what qualifies this review. The manager is very friendly and professional... the rest of the staff is the total opposite. I've been here three times. First time, manager (short male with muscles) greeted me & took my order with a smile..
Second time, tall younger male with glasses barely acknowledged me and looked like it pained him to interact with me.
Today, I called in an order for two bowls, the girl said pickup in ten minutes. I showed up in ten, waited in the empty line for a hello, welcome to frutta bowl, something. The young girl did not acknowledge me and the same young male with glasses also ignored me. I literally stood there for 4 minutes as they repeatedly walked by me to the back room to get smoothie supplies. I finally asked the male "are you going to ask me why im standing here or are you going to walk by me for the 5th time? "
He acted surprised and walked over. I told him I called in an order and would like to pay. He then went to the fridge and got my order. He asked if I wanted my receipt, to which I said no thanks...i just wanted to get out of there at that point.
Fyi, this is probably the first review I have ever written in my life, I'd much rather spend this time doing something more productive.
To the manager, please invest more time in educating your staff on customer service and basic professionalism. If they don't want to greet & speak to people who are coming in to spend $25 on smoothies (which I don't mind because they are good) they need to go find another summer job where they don't need to interact...
Read moreWebsite says they close at 9. I ordered on their website at 7pm and when I got there to pick up there was nobody there in the front but people in the back. I stood by the pick up area and a girl saw me (we made eye contact) and proceeded to ignore me, she took off her sweater in the back and never came to the front. Waited around for 8 mins before someone else came through the door to pick up. Then someone finally came out from the back and the one girl that did come out, completely ignored me and asked the customer that came in ‘picking up?’. I didn’t even let that customer finished because I told her ‘I’m picking up as well and I’ve been waiting here’. No apology, nothing but proceeded to ask my name. Gave her my name and she just pulled it out the fridge and handed it over to me. So this whole time my food was in the fridge (thankfully) but it was already made and I had to wait for the girl to come out and give it to me. Not sure what they were doing in the back but all I heard was laughter and talking.
