Read morePoor customer service seems to be the trend lately after reading some other reviews.
First and foremost, during my most recent visit, all the lumber carts were taken up by online orders, so I needed to settle for a garden cart. Not the first time I've had this issue, it needs to be fixed, but not a big deal.
Then, I attempted to pick up 2x8x8 dimensional lumber which had 175 units in stock at this location according to their website, but 2x10x8 lumber was stocked in it's place and after relocating those to the appropriate rack for them, I was only able to find 1 unit of the 2x8x8 in stock on the shelves. Okay, not a big deal again, I could work around this setback.
So, after weeding through all the cracked and split 2x8x12 units, I sought assistance at the radial arm saw to cut them to length. I was told by one associate "I don't do that" before asking them to page someone who could, they did not.
Then, I asked another associate to page someone, but after waiting for 20 minutes, and actively looking for assistance, I was still left with my needs being unattended.
I know times are tough and good help is hard to find, but I was left with a bitter enough taste in my mouth after this experience to be here writing this review.
Suggestions: Have an ample supply of lumber carts set aside for in-store customers. Walk though your lumber department every shift to ensure shelves are labeled properly and stock hasn't been shifted around by customers. Update your inventory to reflect accurate units on shelves. Have a more robust process for helping customers... if an associate isn't able to help, that associate should check back with that customer until they are indeed helped. A simple "let me go get my manager" or "I'll wait with you until our lumber guy gets here" would have gone a long way.
All this on a Wednesday during what seemed like a low traffic time of day (early afternoon)... I can't imagine what it is like in this store...
Read moreHad a bad experience back in 2021. I should have gone to Lowes. I needed a new storm door, and I should have learned my lesson from the last door I brought there. The previous door rust and retractable handle broke during the first six months. I called the store several times. They refuse to even come out and look at it because they did not install it. The reason I didn't have them install it is because it would've taken weeks. I had the guys who did my siding install the door for me.
Two weeks ago I went to the store to get another door they had my name on record and the size of the door but I had to wait a wait for the guy to come out and take measurements so they could be sure 36 × 80 standard door size. The door that I ordered was in stock. I had to wait a week for the measurement to be done and then go back to the store and order the door. It is still in stock, and the salesperson said that it will only be about a week, just like the other guy did. However, now they are making me wait 3 weeks for them to come out and install it. I called the store on Friday and told them that was unacceptable they told me to call back on Monday and speak to Marsha today because she can expedite the scheduling. I did call and speak to Marsha today, and she said there is nothing that she can do because she doesn't know their schedule. I am sure if I was a man and demanded that they install it sooner, just like I did today, Marsha could have expedited installment. But since I am a single senior citizen woman, I have to wait. It's just another store that takes advantage of elderly people and doesn't care and just wants money. I will be shopping this week if I can find a door and for someone to install it this week or next week.I am canceling my order with Home Depot. This will be the last item I ever purchase...
