While I gave 5 stars for service and atmosphere but want to make this disclaimer. I was there for a company event with a group of about 20 guest of the sponsoring company. Which contributed to non standard (I’m guessing as it was my first time there), wait service and atmosphere and didn’t want to penalize the restaurant for the sponsoring company’s control over halting service during the presentation.
Prior to the presentation, the service was excellent.
The steak was cooked to perfection and the baked potato was cooked just right and both served at the proper temperature for optimal flavor.
The atmosphere being a presentation and eating with a group of strangers was actually very pleasant. The host and hostess were genuinely friendly and kept to the scheduled time. The presentation was much better in both time and information than I expected going into the evening.
There was no pressure to make a purchase, but it was obvious Jerry knows his product. The surprise of the night was the good questions asked by some of the ladies in the audience.
If you are a homeowner and receive a card in the mail concerning energy saving product coming out of NASA research; I highly recommend you attend this event.
The food alone made it worthwhile and the no pressure product information was a bonus.
PS I am looking forward to returning to Murphy’s to try the seafood platter. The couple next to me selected it and it smelled delicious, and included a generous portion. Most who ordered the Seafood Plater and the one Pasta Dish I saw all took...
Read moreThey sent a plain baked potatoes and 7 grilled shrimp for $13 plus tax. The shrimp looked raw in the middle. Not worth the money or the trip there especially for the treatment I received when I called to let them know. I called saying I ordered a dressed baked potato the unfriendly girl said oh yes the toppings come on the side. Um no they did not. She said ugh well you can come back up here. I’ll give you those sides. No I’m on lunch I do not want to come back nor should I have to!! If you did your job and checked to see if the order was correct you wouldn’t have to tell your customer to use their lunch to correct your mistake. I also ordered a cup of shrimp & corn chowder which was just okay. Whoever answered the phone was not nice at all. She sounded like it was a problem for me to even be bothering her with the phone call. I normally get the fried eggplant with soup or salad. I usually get lunch there a couple times a week. But that kind of service and food makes me want to NOT eat lunch there again. I paid $23.09 for a PITIFUL MEAL. I’m like the other lady said in her review. They felt robbed :( I know that...
Read moreThe service was fantastic, they really do have an awesome staff. The recipes, however, could use a little pizzazz. The onion rings are definitely a great way to start, but the hush puppies might as well have been sugarless cake batter. I ordered the Catfish Daniel (catfish topped with etouffee ). The fish was drowning in it and was not served over rice. The tidbits of fillets that were sans etouffee were excellent, fresh, crispy and flavorful, but the etouffee already had the layer of film it gets and it had completely soaked into the fish batter... like somehow the dish was fresh and hours old at the same time. The fries were average, the soft drinks were good and, again, those onion rings are killer, but for a seafood restaurant - this is not my top pick. Everyone is entitled to an "off" night, no one is perfect and I'm hoping that or experience was just one of those nights... Did I mention they have a terrific staff? I'd like to reassure management that our servers and host were nothing if not fantastic and had no negative impact...
