Waffle House — Restaurant in Hammond

For the first time in my life, i witnessed a "closed" waffle house. Im using "closed" loosly here due to the fact that it was not in fact closed. More along the lines of them locking the door and the woman giving us the "cut it" gesture and shaking her head "no" while we stand outside in confusion to a locked waffle house door with plenty of staff. But in fact they told us they would not serve us, so our time and gas was waisted because we relied on a place that stays open for Christmas and other national holidays to be open on a Tuesday in april. So in all, i recommend not visiting this location because they may decide to just not serve guests because they dont feel like it. thank you though for what i imagine will be a once in a lifetime experience.. a "closed"...

This particular waffle house was great with service last I came. The woman whom I think is management was out waitress..super energetic and personable. Waitress this time wasn't all up to par. Had been almost 10 minutes until we got out drinks before the food came and that was only because I asked if we could have our drinks. I asked for a set of toast no butter with a piece of lettuce( was gonna make a hash brown sammie) she brings toast with butter. I send it back. Still no lettuce,but by this point I didn't want it. Friend was nice enough to leave her a few bucks tip. I wasn't even trying to leave that much,and I'm avid about tipping. I won't knock this location based on that one person, but staff needs to get on board with the...

I don't expect much of waffle house, because its waffle house. But we went a group of six, about 20 minutes before 2pm shift change...no welcome which is whatever. But we sat down at the one spot that was clean, and literally got ignored for an entire 15 minutes before we decided to leave. If someone on the staff would have said, hey its about to be shift change or we'll be with you I a few minutes, or hey just give us a minute we would have been ok and stayed. But all of us have worked in the hospitality industry and even at waffle house and we all agreed that's just bad business. Sorry not sorry waffle...
