I have NEVER made a review but I just had to. First, our party of 7 (4 adults 3 kids) went here towards the end of the lunch rush. My mother in law wanted to take us out to a Sunday lunch. It took awhile to get seated but the hostess was wonderful at communication and we had no problem with the wait. Obviously we could tell they were somewhat busy. After being seated we could see things were taking awhile but again, completely understanding of the rush. Getting drinks & appetizers was fine but it was awful after that. Mind you, 75% of the tables were cleared out at this point. We couldn’t even put our order in until after our appetizers came. After we put our meal order in no one came for an HOUR. Not to check on us, not to explain the wait, nothing. I’m not sure if it was just our waiter because the other tables had constant service & ours seemed to disappear into thin air. We finally asked after 40 minutes because the children were getting rowdy and we were told we were almost up. The manager came over and apologized to explain that the kitchen was working overtime and they were short staffed (yet mentioned that there were 6 people in the kitchen & I saw our waiter with two other tables outside of ours so I couldn’t tell where the staff shortage was), which we understood but we watched parties (of 6) walk in 30 minutes after us and leave. Our orders were incredibly simple, by the way, especially the children’s. What upset me the most was the fact that our waiter never apologized for the wait or lack of attention, my mother in law had to get the manager AGAIN to even have our check, he didn’t offer a discount seeing as he was aware of the experience & could see she was taking care of the full check.. it was awful. Again, not sure if it was the waiter or not. The other tables didnt have much problems & definitely had much better service than us. One even stopped to talk to my daughters about Halloween who were bouncing off the walls at that point. I feel horrible for my...
Read moreI will definitely go back. The issues that removed one star from the review are easily attributable to the staff training a trainee, during Christmas week, on a busy lunch hour. That caveat out of the way, here's the particulars: I attempted to order the root beer, out. Coffee: they hadn't made a pot that morning. Asked for tea, they answered they had sweetened or unsweetened tea. Oddly, when I asked if black or green tea they said they only had unsweetened or sweetened...odd statement but oh well. Maybe they meant they only had cold tea. The sweet tea was refreshing and decent. Okay speed for food prep: we ordered at 11:55: we received a shared Crab and Corn soup at 11:59. Received burgers and entree at 12:24, after one wrong table attempted delivery, and a half a table wrong delivery. (They tried to give us someone else's food). For a Chicken Cordon Bleu with fries and an Onion Jam burger with fries, that is a little slower than usual but the quality and good price more than made up for it. Good alternative rock music, just on the edge of too loud for normal conversation but good for upbeat energy. They actually cleaned/sanitized the table between diners, a first that I've noticed. Most places I've seen 'clean' but don't really sanitize. Now for the reason in the loss of a star: I advised of a food allergy and halfway through I found a small piece of that food type in my burger. Likely stuck on someone's glove during prep but it is a good thing I only have an ingestion allergy easily resolved with mild medication. Normally that kind of issue would land a restaurant at no more than 3 stars in my book, but the quality of food, excellent customer service even if the food takes a bit to come out on a busy day, and the stellar pricing edge it up to four stars. When we go back, if they get the allergy issue wrong again, then I'll revisit my star...
Read moreFrom the moment I laid eyes on Our Mom’s Restaurant and Bar, I knew I was in for something special. What I didn’t expect was to be transported into a realm of flavor, comfort, and hospitality so divine that I questioned every meal I’ve ever eaten before. Let me be clear: this is not just a restaurant — it is a soul-healing, stomach-singing, joy-inducing masterpiece.
Atmosphere Walking in is like stepping into a warm hug made of laughter, nostalgia, and buttery goodness. The place radiates love. The décor? Imagine your childhood living room if it were curated by Gordon Ramsay after a spiritual awakening. Cozy, quirky, and utterly perfect.
Service I have never — and I mean never — experienced service like this. It was as if the staff could read my mind. I thought I wanted water, and it appeared. I longed for another napkin, and it gently floated down like manna from heaven. They didn’t serve food. They delivered happiness on plates.
Food Now brace yourself. I ordered the “Mama’s Meatloaf Mountain” and by the second bite, I was audibly moaning. People stared. I didn’t care. It was like each ingredient had been personally counseled through therapy to reach its full potential. The mashed potatoes? Whipped into silky submission. The gravy? Poured straight from a divine ladle wielded by the culinary gods. But then came dessert. The Cinnamon Roll Bread Pudding was so good I got emotional. I may have proposed to it. No regrets.
Drinks Their cocktails are handcrafted liquid poetry. I ordered a drink called “The Spanked Peach,” and let’s just say I am a changed person. Balanced, bold, and more fun than my last three relationships combined.
Conclusion If I could give Our Mom’s six stars, I’d demand seven. I’d trade birthdays, holidays, and probably my lease just to eat here again. It’s not just a meal — it’s a full-body, heart-opening,...
