I used to visit the Dunkin' Donuts on Carlisle Pike in Mechanicsburg primarily for their iced coffee, but my experiences have been mixed. While I appreciated the variety of flavor options, I often found the iced coffee overly sweet or tasting artificial, especially with the flavored swirls. There were a few times the proportions of coffee, milk, and sweetener just didn’t seem right, leaving me a bit disappointed.
The donuts have been similarly hit-or-miss—sometimes fresh and enjoyable, but other times feeling a bit stale. I’ve since learned that the donuts are not made fresh in-store but are delivered frozen and reheated, which could explain the inconsistent quality. As for the service, it’s been generally friendly and efficient, particularly in the mornings, though order accuracy could occasionally be an issue. Cleanliness is another area where consistency is lacking; while some visits were fine, on others the dining area and restrooms didn’t feel well-maintained, which detracted from the overall experience. I’ve also noticed employees mishandling food on occasion, which is concerning.
I had been avoiding Dunkin' as a whole lately due to these types of quality issues, but I decided to stop in today to give them another chance. Unfortunately, my experience proved that things hadn’t really improved, leaving me hesitant to return in the future. The issues with product freshness, artificial flavors, and occasional cleanliness concerns are enough to make me think twice before...
Read moreOrdered through the drive through 2 donuts and a pumpkin spice latte. Was handed an iced coffee of some sort. When I said that wasn’t what I ordered, I was chastised by the staff saying that I should have specifically asked for a hot drink. They then proceeded to tell me how they would have to waste the iced coffee. While waiting for the correct drink, the staff continued to tell me how this was my error and that during this time of year they don’t know which drinks people want. Ok, so I am typically a very patient and understanding person when there is an error but being reprimanded as a consumer left me very irritated. I have always been under the impression that a latte is hot unless otherwise specified. The incorrect assumption on their end really isn’t even the point here. The abrasive and condescending manner in which I was treated was uncalled for. They could have sought clarification when I placed my order. They could have just apologized. Instead they gave me instructions on how to “correctly” order next time, I told them not to worry because I won’t be returning. Last, unrelated to today’s experience- they really need to do a better job of keeping the dining area clean. I usually stop in on Wednesdays with my 2-year-old and there are never any napkins and I always have to wipe off a table with the baby wipes from our diaper bag. I’m sure nothing will come of this but I at least feel better now that I’ve shared my...
Read moreI can’t believe how this place operates. The first time I went I parked to order inside and the doors were locked. I don’t understand why they only so drive thru when everywhere else is open now. Second, I went in yesterday because they were finally open inside and I ordered a pumpkin spice latte. The employee wasn’t wearing a mask. As soon as she walked away, I wanted to know what type of milk they used for the lattes. She came back and I asked her what milk they use. When she said whole, I hesitated and she said she could change it. So, I asked for oat milk. She then rang me up for $4.97 and walked away. I thought that was pricey for a small latte but I proceeded to pay since I didn’t wanna take up more time. When the receipt printed, I took it off and looked at it. She charged me $1.50 just for a milk substitute!!! I couldn’t believe it. Even Starbucks doesn’t charge $1 for oat milk substitute!! They’re over their heads for thinking that’s okay. I was NOT HAPPY about that. I didn’t even have a chance to stop her because they have a high wall barrier where you can’t see them make the drinks, like Starbucks. What a disappointment! On top of that, she was taking longer and I was late returning to work from my...
