KFC on Ocean View: A Quick Fix, But Not a Feast The KFC on Ocean View in Norfolk offers exactly what you'd expect from a fast-food chain, no more, no less. It's a convenient stop for a quick, familiar meal, but it rarely rises above that level of basic utility, landing it squarely in three-star territory. On the positive side, the location is easy to access, especially if you're cruising along Ocean View Avenue and need a quick bite. The drive-thru is usually reasonably efficient, which is a big plus when you're on the go. You know what you're getting: the classic fried chicken flavor that KFC is known for, along with the familiar sides like mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw, and biscuits. When you're craving that specific taste, this location delivers it consistently. However, the experience often feels very much like a grab-and-go. The dining area, while functional, isn't particularly inviting or well-maintained, often showing the wear and tear of high traffic. Cleanliness can sometimes be an issue, and the atmosphere lacks any real warmth or character. The quality of the food, while consistent with the chain's standards, can also be hit or miss. The chicken is sometimes perfectly crispy and juicy, but other times it can be a bit dry or greasy. Sides are generally fine, but again, nothing to write home about. Service, while usually quick, is often transactional and lacks much in the way of warmth or personalized attention. It's clear the focus is on speed and volume rather than customer experience. In essence, this KFC serves its purpose as a fast-food option. It's there when you need a quick, affordable, and predictable meal, but it's not a place you'd go for an enjoyable dining experience or particularly high-quality food. It's a practical stop for a specific craving, but don't expect anything beyond the standard...
Read moreIf you’re reading this you’re probably one of the unlucky souls that placed an online order, came in for a ‘quick’ pick-up and your order wasn’t ready so now you’re waiting in the restaurant reading all the negative reviews. If you haven’t placed your order, just know that you need to add 15-30 minutes to your apps pickup time for your food to be ready. And I’m sorry but I don’t think there is an easy way to cancel on the app if you need to be somewhere and can’t wait any longer. But seriously how long does it take to put 8 pieces of chicken in a bucket when the chicken is already cooked and just sitting there? Also, I think the quick pickup box is turned around backwards so it’s not even being used correctly. Shouldn’t they be putting my order in the box and I just stroll up and see my order and grab it and go? No, that would make too much sense! What else? Ok the chicken is pretty good but I think it would taste better if you weren’t so angry from having to wait around so long. Also I’m really only coming here for the $10 eight piece bucket and once it disappears in the app it’s back to the $5 rotisserie chicken at Costco. Since you’ve got the time I’ll digress. Did you know that I read that they want us to eat less chicken and that they want the prices to keep rising? Why? I think it has something to do with the environment. But honestly I think they want us to be less happy. Not sure what else to say other than I hope you get your order soon and try and find happiness even with outrageous...
Read moreMy wife and I don't usually come here often, but when we do, it isn't that great. My wife told me last night when she went to KFC/TacoBell aroumd 5/5:30 on 5/27, that the manager on duty (wearing a black/white striped outfit) was being rude to customers. She told me she heard him ask atleast 3 customers if they wanted the coupon book. When they told him several times, NO THANK YOU, he kept going, (are you sure?, do you want to look at it?, there's good deals!, I'll just put in right here just incase you change your mind.) All while the customers kept saying no. Then he asked one of the customers, you must be from Norfolk huh? Which the customer stated he was born and raised in Norfolk. The manager then proceeds to ask if all Norfolk people are stubborn, all because he told the manager several times he didn't want the coupons nor did he want to look at them. He did the same with 2 others as well. Then she over heard him, and another employee joking around, which the manager then said that the other employee wasn't his kid, and that if the customers see him smack her, to turn their heads, and pretend they didn't see it. All in all we won't be going back to this location until something changes. But on a great note she said the young lady named Daysha, if that's how you spell her name who took her order was fantastic. She was super polite, and made sure my wife...
