I'm being fair by rating this space a 2-star, just because I've been a bregular in the neighborhood since they first opened and they do have good food and teas.
The reason for my two star review is because for one of the 2 times I've actually decided to sit and dine in at the cafe I did not have a very welcoming experience from management. I was sitting on the couch in an area of the cafe minding my business while working and doing my business when I was approached by the manager who had shared with me that the establishment has a lunch rush at a particular hour. While nobody was in the dining area at the time other than myself, he asked me if I can move to a single occupied table. When I asked him why he is asking me to move the manager explain to me that because of a lunch rush he wants to have that space for customers who are "paying customers that buy food". I took that as apparently I'm not considered a valuable paying customer just because I have yet to buy food at that time when I had planned to once it was my time to eat at the noon lunch hour. Mind you I had just arrived at their location to make my order for tea at 9:30 and finally sat down and set up my space so I can work at about 10:45 a.m. So having been there for less than an hour, The manager thought it was appropriate to approach me with such nonsense and very rude request.
After he had completed helping another customer, I had approached him with my discontent about his comment. Instead of innererstanding my value as a customer who has been supportive of the business since they opened, he may be defensive comment to say that the business has already been losing money due to the construction on the streets. And would like to reserve the area I was sitting in for those who are paying with food. Mind you, this man had no idea of my intentions to buy food within the next hour if I had stayed there. Instead, I feel unwelcomed and since he's so worried about losing money... Well he's just lost this valuable paying customer who rocked with them regularly and even gloated about the business to others in a positive light but now instead I'll be sharing the negative experience that I've had. I just quietly packed my things and moved to another location where the atmosphere is more welcoming to those who can work and enjoy a space. Came to Cafe1923 where it's more welcoming, even KitKab Cafe as small the space that is doesn't mind having me there. If I ever want a sandwich in Hamtramck I'll just go to Albasha Subs and get me a sandwich to go from them. Albasha has better sandwiches and wraps anyhow 😅🤣
Therefore, they'll never have to worry about me spending my hard earned black dollars or inviting anyone to meet me at their establishment ever again. Peace 🕊️ be upon y'all...

Read moreI will start first with the fact that the smoothie is amazing. Food on the other hand can use slight improvement. The breakfast croissant was plain, There was cheese but I could not taste it. I added hash browns too and think it would be a lot better if they added some salt or something, we still finished our plate tho lol. the biggest thing i can say about this resturaunt is that it has a lot more potential, the dine in area is cozy and nice to sit in and talk but there are no waiters and everything is handed to you to go style. Plastic plates and paper and no glassware or silverware. I was kind of sad to get my cappuccino in a to go cup as well and they have glass cups, it just takes away from the experience. I also recommend...
