So I been coming to this place for almost 15 years and I always highly recommend this place to everyone I know. There bread with garlic is second to none. Their lamb chili is amazing! Their lamb chops are excellent! Their beef kafta is really good too. For the most part their service is always on point and the place is really clean. I went yesterday with my family and I was really disappointed. The server was not very attentive to the point we always had to flag him down. His name was started with an A. I never seen him before so he must've been new. Me being in the business for almost 25 years my biggest pet peeve is a server not writing the order down because that's how mistakes happen and sure enough he did. It wasn't a big mistake but a mistake is a mistake. He gave us 4 bowls of lamb chili instead of 4 cups. Than we asked for bread and garlic and he only brought us 4 pieces and there was 5 of us and the bread wasn't hot and it was hard. We asked for more bread and this time it was hot but again he brought us 4 pieces. The bathroom was very dirty too. We asked for a couple of boxes and waited about 10 minutes for them because our server felt like he needed to have a full blown conversation with the manager in the kitchen. We watched the whole conversation, it could've waited. They're always busy so I feel like their making so much money now that they just stop caring about the level of service and cleanliness. They're not cheap either so everything needs to be on point. My wife said we might have to go back to La Marsa again because we weren't having that problem there so we just might need to take a break from Royal Kabob until they fix...
Read moreThis is the place all the other Middle Eastern restaurants in Hamtramck have to beat. But they can't, because Royal Kabob is the best. Get their boneless grilled chicken dinner. How do those chickens grow if they have no bones, I don't know, but this chicken is grilled over the same flames as the beef so it has a flavor which is probably better than chicken grilled in your back yard. You also get some grilled vegetables. Or get their beef kabob. They use a higher quality beef than most places try to make do with. And watch out for those little pillows of soft bread you get free with your meal. They made it right before they served it so inhale it fast before it turns into a cracker! Their fruit drinks are actually what they say they are, not secretly out of a bottle in the back. You will pay a little more for this ... maybe! I admit, I sometimes order the whole deboned chicken dinner for takeout and it gives me all the rice I need for 3 days, and all the meat for 5...
Read moreHighly recommend. At first glance, you would probably just keep driving and think this place is nothing special. You couldn't be more wrong. The food was unbelievably amazing. I had the 1/2 order of grilled chicken with sautéd mushrooms and rice. The chicken was tender and juicy. It was perfectly grilled with just the right blend of herbs and spices. The 1/2 order was still too much food to eat all of it in one sitting, but it tasted so wonderful I didn't want to stop. Next time I'm in the area, I will be planning my day around having lunch here again. Meals are served with complimentary bread and garlic spread that is also incredibly delicious. My meal cost $12.99, which is actually a great price considering how good the food tasted. I have paid more for meals that were nowhere near the quality of this one. I was able to box up the rest and have a second meal later, so the cost was well worth it. I highly...
