A&W Restaurant — Restaurant in Handy Township

Having previously gotten fairly good service, and good food, I was highly dismayed at what I walked into when visiting the A&W for my son's birthday lunch. Keep in mind throughout this, the manager was there, with a headset on, but wasn't helping the front counter staff at ALL. The front counter staff was a young man who was rude, inept, had to be told many multiple times what our order was, and we weren't ordering anything special off the menu or anything, I was just trying to get through to him that my burger had to be WITHOUT mayo because of allergy, and we wanted root beer floats for the drinks. But he couldn't get that! He OBVIOUSLY didn't belong taking orders, he couldn't take ours!!! Which explains why out took so long for us to get to the front of the line! And the whole time I kept looking at the manager, who was hovering right by, he HAD to be hearing what was going on, but he would fluff the fries, or open bags, but NEVER come help! Then the kid brought our order wrong, AND they didn't have one of our burgers, so I had to wait for out to be brought out... inn the dining room... oh... my... goodness... it looked like out hadn't been cleaned ALL DAY! It was a war zone. We never found a clean table, I had to brush one off. I doubt were will be back... shameful on the...

I was excited to stop here since I feel like these are becoming few and far between. There were 3 of us going through the drive-thru and I was not impressed from the start. First of all, when I ordered the first two meals all was fine, on the third, I asked for chilli cheese fries without onion. The girl at the end of the speaker bit my head off that there was no onion, I was taken aback and asked her to say it once more (I hoped I misheard). In a snarky tone, she told me there were no onions- I try not to take chances since I am allergic. Anyway, my response was "awesome" and I finished my order. When I came to the window, the girl seemed annoyed, once I paid, the eight year old in the car said "why do they work here when they are all so unhappy." BINGO. If an eight year old can see it, there's a problem. Anyway, after paying we went to a nearby store for a meeting. The kids meals were okay, the adult burger was okay... the hair in the cheese fries was not okay. Couldn't finish them.... and here I was first disappointed I didn't...

I went back again today and OMG it was even better and dare I say… euphoric? No… I don’t think words could describe my experience here. I came in store today as I had to get the full experience and almost exploded right off the bat, but I was in public so I had to hold it for now. It felt like a kiss from my ex wife (who still meets with me in secret) when looking at the menue again. Just reading the words made me feel so… dirty. And when I got home? Let’s just say that double papa burger was really a DADDY burger, and I know it wasn’t a number 10 meal but my food experience was just so spicy 😏😉 I had to lock the dog outside before losing myself in this burger… it was so good, so satisfying, so big, so… dare I say… sexy? Hotter than Sharon sure but… this papa… no… DADDY burger was just so good. Anyway, still solid food and service definitely coming back...
