GREAT start, SOUR ending. Wish I could rate the food separate from the service. FOOD:5 STARS We will be back due to the delicious food! SERVICE: 2 STARS and that's being nice. The hostess was the nicest one. We went there for the 1st time last Friday (12/8/17) night around 6:30. Like I said the hostess was the nicest one there, although I'm not sure why we were sat at a table for 8 when we only had 3 people. (no biggie-more elbow room) But it was a good start. Informed our waitress it was our 1st time there and if we could hang on to the menu. We all ordered appetizers and entrees. Food came out at a reasonable speed- we were not in a hurry. Would recommend everything we ordered. Chicken noodle soup, Bavarian Pretzels, Chili, Philly Cheese steak, Turkey Panini and potato skins. After we ate what we could, the waitress dropped the check to the table. Didn't ask us if we were interested in desert, which we were and didn't inform us that you have to take it way up to the front of the gas station/gift shop/ cashier area. So I wondered up there and asked the lady behind the counter is this where I cash out? She took the bill and was really examining it and she said very snotty 'Oh, just water to drink?" "Yeah, there was a sierra mist on there though" Mind you in my 32 years of going out to eat, I ALWAYS get water ( I drink water will ALL my meals) and I was taken back a bit from her rude comment. Went back to our table, were the rest of the family waited a while for take out boxes. We decided to take a look at the gift shop area. My daughter picked out some incense and went to pay. By the cashier counter there was a gentlemen who was in line but off to the side and already was being helped but I think it was a money order or something were there was a process. So he was moved over a bit and we asked him if he was all set and the same lady was like "Yeah I'm helping him" So she asked my daughter "How much are those?" we told her and then we cashed out that transaction. Then she finished up with the gentlemen, looked like a trucker, and my she was as sweet as pie to him. Last minute I decided I wanted to get 2 lottery tickets (try my luck- there has been recent nearby winners) so I asked for a easy pick mega million and easy pick powerball. Same lady- I don't know if she was having a horrible day but I don't think my request way to extravagant or difficult (it is a gas station counter for crying out loud), so she says " I don't know what that is, what is that? Walks to the lottery machine and says "Is it this red button here?" Like legit asking me how to do it on her computer screen. I gave her the cash and she gave me my 2 impossible tasked lottery tickets. So if we were to return, it will probably for a TAKE OUT and I would hope that it is not the same lady! I normally don't write reviews but I felt the need to after the way that lady handled us as her customers. So nice to that guy but so short with us. Great way to deter new customers and make them chose other restaurants when it's time to decide where go out to eat. Didn't get her name, maybe she was the manager but definitely not the small town welcome/encounter you...
Read moreWell we have been going to the Farms for years and we always enjoyed it. But this last year the quality of the food seems to have been going down hill. First we almost always find crusted food on are silverware. My Wife had Goulash and she's had it many times and it has been her go too menu item. But this last time the Goulash looked different and portion was much smaller. But I guess the smaller portion was a good thing this time because a few hours after eating my wife ended up getting sick it made her stomach hurt and she ended up vomiting several times that night and into the morning so we are not going to be heading back anytime soon if at all. Also on one occasion I ordered the wet burrito and by the time I got home it was coming back up. I'm very sorry to have to write this review but people need to know what they might get themselves into. One other time I had a Chef Salad and I asked the waitress right up front if it was real meat and cheese cut up or if it was sliced up lunch meat and I also asked about the cheese because I didn't want processed cheese slices. The waitress told me everything was real. But of course she didn't know any better and when she brought the salad out of course it looked a tasted like cheap lunch meat cut up and the cheese ended up being the processed shiny and tasted like the cheapest sliced up American cheese they could find. I really don't like to complain about food at restaurants but I feel that the food quality has really gone down hill from just a couple of years ago. We use to take the whole family there for Holiday meals but after several bad meals and dirty silverware no one in the family wants to eat there anymore. Just so you know where I'm coming from we did not complain we ate what we could and left the rest. I really don't like to complain so when the cashier asked if we enjoyed the meal we just agreed and paid the bill. Plus are young waitress was good at her job so I even left a pretty good size tip. After all it wasn't her fault that the meal wasn't very good so I made sure she got paid for dare I say great service. Thank you for the opportunity to leave this sad review maybe after a couple of reviews like this they will step up there game and start making decent food again. Believe me they use to have very good food and I've been eating there since it use to be Knickerson Farms and that was quite a few decades ago. Thanks again and I'm sorry but if we don't speak up the food will continue to be bad. Happy New Year and let's make Fowlerville Farms...
Read moreThis restaurant was pretty disappointing. I stopped by to get takeout this evening and experienced a very long wait with no explanation or apology. I waited for like 10 minutes before anyone greeted me at the hostess stand, 10 minutes before anyone came to my bar seat, 10 minutes before I could order, the food came reasonably quickly, then 10-20 minutes standing at the gas station register before I could pay. There were several other people waiting to pay too, but no gas station employees were there. It turned out that the gas station employee was also the restaurant employee and was somewhere in the restaurant that whole time. I dont mind waiting, but employees should always communicate with customers. Saying "Someone will be right with you" or "I'm sorry, we are busy and understaffed, so there might be a wait" goes along way. No one said anything like this the whole time I was there, and ithe whole environment felt th uncomfortable and maybe even a little hostile. The decor was cute though. Also, the food was kind of cold and there wasn't any ketchup (for my fries) or ranch (for my wings). I wanted to like this place (despite it being in a gas station), but it's clear that customer service training isnt a high priority. Oh, and please post your menu online. I could find bits of it, but not a clear picture of the whole thing. At least add it to your...
