*update: Jan 17th 2023
Went back a few times even after the awful service by one of the workers. Fortunately, I did not encounter any rudeness or mistakes in my orders. The Schaumburg location now gives pup samples in a small cone, just like the Orland Park location. I'm changing my star review to 4 from 3!
** update: July 7th 2022 Went to the Schaumburg location again and ordered a small vanilla sugar cone. I was given one scoop as you can see in the picture. I took the picture as soon as I drove out of the drive thru. This actually happened to me the first time I ordered here which was about 10 days ago..probably from the same guy. Therefore, I assumed that a small = 1 scoop. However, the next 4 times in the last 2 weeks, I have been given 2 scoops when I ordered a small and 3 scoops when I ordered a medium in various locations including this same location. So today, I studied the menu. There were pictures of two scoops next to the small size cone. When I asked the guy who took my order and asked why I was given just one scoop WHEN YOU EVEN HAVE A PICTURE OF TWO SCOOPS NEXT TO "SMALL" ON THE MENU, he went on to say that I needed to be more specific when ordering....WHAT?!? he went on to say that sometimes people order a small but don't want two scoops... So next time, he said I NEED TO SPECIFY HOW MANY SCOOPS I WANT, instead of saying the size. RIDICULOUS!! All he needed to do was apologize for his mistake and make things right instead of blaming the customer for not "knowing to order correctly"
This was my previous post: My friend recommended that I try Andy's when I visit Chicago, and when I did, I fell in love. American ice creams are either too sweet, too light, or too creamy, but the frozen custards at Andy's are just perfect. My family and I now eat one everyday....My pup loves it too! The orland park location gives you the pup sample in a cute mini cone but the schaumburg location gives it in...
Read moreCame here with the family while I was in town. On a Tuesday afternoon in mid-July, I was surprised to find no one here. We couldn't even tell if they were open because it was so dead (not a complaint, just an observation). There is no indoor seating here - there's just a walk up window with an outdoor seating area and drive thru. You'd think since they don't do any indoor seating that they'd have substantial outdoor seating, but there's only a couple of benches to sit on which is disappointing. I'm sure during peak times, there isn't a place for a family to sit.
The menu had a lot of good options to choose from but I ended up ordering the Texas 2-Step Jackhammer since it came highly recommended due to the hot fudge filling in the middle. It was pretty good and I enjoyed the Jackhammer idea. The custard was good, but nothing special (quite frankly, I prefer the taste of the custard from Culver's). But it was still a great treat for a hot summer day.
The gentleman working was very kind and knowledgeable and he prepared our treats quickly. All in all, I'd definitely visit again especially to try some of the other tasty sounding options...
Read morewe ordered 3 Kid's fudge sundays and one one of them plain, without any fudge. The server , the guy with the glasses, prepared 3 fudge ones. We said that we ordered one of them plain and he replied: " wanna fudge to be taken out? We can't redo it, only take the fudge out." I'm sorry , what??? What kind of customer service is that?? Then, the other two Sundays barely had any fudge in them. On our question, why there was so little of it, he smugly replied that this was a kid's sunday and it was supposed to be like that , and if we wanted more we should have had forked over 1.34$. Are you guys out of your minds completely there???? This dude has been doing the same thing with fudge doses since last year at least. But today , it just went totally overboard. So what he ended up doing, he took one of the sundays back , gave us back a little cup of ice cream, and said the rest will be refunded. AND NOTHING HAS BEEN REFUNDED!!! The left photo is ours, and the right photo is yours from google. Show it to him how your products...
