Chili's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Hanover Township

Went here yesterday with my wife and kids and when I tell you guys this was hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant.

We arrived to what you could tell had been a packed house earlier and you could tell the staff was annoyed/overwhelmed. That should’ve been my sign to leave. We sit down, order drinks and apps & about 15 mins later the dip trio comes out. After that came out we didn’t see our server for every bit of 30 minutes. We were waiting for refills & then our food and it just took forever.

Fast forward 30 minutes and we get refills after flagging out waitress down, she then proceeds to leave the empty cups at the end of the table where we’d placed them. About 15-20 mins more and we finally get our food. You could instantly tell this food had been done and sitting for a LONG TIME (please see photos below)

The kids pepperoni pizza is just a plate of disgusting slop (he literally took a single small bite and then ended up not eating any of it) & our bacon quesadilla must’ve have been sitting for so long that the bottoms of every piece were just soggy as can be from sitting on top of the lettuce and pico (that we asked for on the side instead of on the plate for the exact reason, but it’s too difficult to follow simple instructions) please also see the photos below. I’m curious to those of you reading this, after seeing the food picture below, would you pay $50+ dollars AND WOULD YOU EAT THAT? disgusting.

Of all the food we ordered, the ONLY edible food was the other kids meal chicken tenders and that was only good because after 45 mins they finally came to the table and said they ran out of corn, so they had to make that meal fresh.

Wasted about $50 so we could eat the only two pieces of the quesadilla that were edible and the dip trio. What an absolute disgrace.. my kids and wife love Chili’s and after this we won’t ever be returning.

The icing on the cake- we waited and waited to show our waitress and ask for new food, but she once again just simply didn’t come back. When we finally went to leave, she took the plates with ALL the food still on them, and didn’t say a single word. This girl had 4 tables, all in our little section.. but spent the entire 1.25 hours we were there in the back, nobody saw her come out. Hopefully this location has cameras and can figure out where the heck this girl was, that was so important it ruined our meals. Do better chilis & find more competent staff.

We were a moderately large group of 7 adults.

We were seated near the window, away from everyone else, when there was plenty of open seating. On this cold day, evidently their heat was broken as well since it was quite cold in there. When asked if they could raise the heat, we were told the heat had been broken for a while and they were using some workarounds to heat the building.

They were not overly busy, yet somehow we spent over 4 hours there, most of the time waiting for staff to bring things. Multiple cups had scum from the wash, lipstick on the rim, etc. We continually had warm drinks (tea and hot water) requested, and most of the time we were waiting longer for refills than the time it took to drink it initially. One person found a hair in their food. We were waiting for appetizers, food, or some other item constantly, and while they didn't seem short staffed, our waiter in particular seemed to never be around, so we had to keep asking other staff for things. Honestly the other staff did more to serve our table than our waiter.

Then to top it off despite splitting the bill into a few checks, there were issues applying our discounts, even though we mentioned both (the splits and the discounts) when placing our order. The manager nicely helped out by being flexible and allowing us to get the small discounts we expected, but the rules should have been mentioned when placing the order, not surprising us after the fact. This failure falls squarely on our waiter.

Overall, I don't eat at Chili's often, and it wasn't our first choice for this night either, but I will be very reluctant to eat here again in the...

6/2021 5* First time back dining in the restaurant. Great experience. Only negative was it was a bit cold sitting by the windows under the A/C. But Chad was a super server and helped out a lot. Very accommodating and friendly. Enjoyed his service. Hope to have him again in the future.

1/2021 5* Once again they earned my business. The hostess was great. She was especially helpful as I had several gift cards to use. Food was taste and cooked exactly right. We will be back again soon!

9/2020 5* Have not been to this Chili's in quite a while. Have been going to one closer to our house. Had a carry out order for here and had some troubles with our order online. In the end, my wife had to go inside and straighten things out when she was picking up the order.

The General Manager Marissa and another associate Andrew were absolutely AMAZING!!!! They completely went out of their way to help my wife with things. Above and beyond typical customer service. I really appreciate them and I was not even there! :) My wife was very impressed by them and because of this awesome service I am sure we will drive a little further sometimes just to make sure we go this restaurant.
